Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa

Just returned from a stay at this hotel. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. I booked a feature room picture showing four poster bed but we were given a different room which was equally nice with drapes over the headboard. The room and bathroom were clean and lovely. The breakfast was nice. Now for the disappointing bit. We travelled here to use the spa facilities which on arrival were told they are separate to the hotel and were full. There isn't a pool or steam room for residents to use at their leisure.

Nice property and grounds although some communal areas tired looking. . Staff friendly. Our rooms were a walk away from reception. Room clean. Beds and pillows too soft for us. Could hear neighbours laughing, so sound insulation could be better. Food was good.

Pleasantly surprised with our visit. We stayed for 2 nights and used the spa and it was fabulous! It was a real treat and easily one of the best in the UK.. dinner was amazing and plenty of choices. Could fault it one bit. Don’t know why there are bad reviews on here..maybe some people have a grudge..staff couldn’t be more accommodating. Will defo be back and will gladly spend more while I stay.

Wasn’t sure quite what to expect as reviews were a bit of a mix but this was a pleasant surprise. Room was stunning and clean. Breakfast superb and have to give a shout out to Anna who helped me before our stay and arranged some special treats for my husbands birthday. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you

We stayed for a last minute break with our dog. The room was spacious and clean. A lovely big bathroom. We had drinks in the bar at night and a nice breakfast the next morning. We really enjoyed it. The staff were lovely, made a fuss of our dog and made us feel more than welcome.

Such a great experience! Lovely little gem of a hotel with a luxury spa. My wife had the best time and we enjoyed every aspect. we stayed in an exec room- definatley a great choice as it had everything we needed. staff in both restaurant and bar are great too!

Room was spacious and clean but the mattress was way too soft for us. The WiFi was poor as it kept disconnecting. The room had an overall smell of cleaning fluid. The breakfast was average however the staff were very friendly and helpful. Car parking was good.

Bath outside the bathroom? Very odd. But superbly comfortable bed. Different

Couldn’t get to Ringwood Hall for my one night booking as Storm Amy meant that travel conditions were bad and was not advised. I’d planned to visit my friend around there as she is recovering from a big operation and tried to change the date to another date in October. Got a flat out refusal. Won’t book again!

The hotel itself is a bit of a paradox – outside it looks like a stately manor where you might expect Downton Abbey drama, inside it leans more towards Fawlty Towers with carpet burn. Charming, yes, but refined boutique it is not. The rooms were… functional. Clean, but dated, with furniture that has definitely seen more centuries than I have. I was delighted to discover a Corby trouser press – the true relic of British hotels, as essential and unused as ever. The bed was comfy enough, although the divan looked like it had survived the Blitz, and the pillows were more suggestion than substance. The taps took their sweet time, probably still powered by Victorian plumbing. Dinner, however, was a pleasant surprise. A sirloin steak that was cooked to perfection, chips that were glorious – but no Guinness on the menu. Frankly, they should lose a Michelin star they don’t even have for that oversight. Breakfast was solid – though roast potatoes on the buffet was an odd flex. Obviously, I ate them, because I’m not a monster. My main gripe: the staff sprinting around like a tea relay team, pouring and decanting like they were in some sort of Edwardian drama. Just get a self-serve coffee machine and let them live. The spa was the hotel’s redemption arc – modern, slick, and genuinely impressive. Two saunas with woodland views and a hydro pool that felt like therapy for both body and soul. Worth every penny of the small upgrade. The gym, however, was less “wellness sanctuary” and more “garden shed with a treadmill.” Enough kit to scrape a workout together if you’re desperate, there was one of those vibrating platforms with various attachments in the corner ready to revive memories of QVC TV sales pitch workouts based on very questionable science.
