EGI Resort and Hotel

This hotel is suitable for a one night stay if you are just arriving or departing from Mactan airport. There is not much of any dining area for lunch/ dinner, though there is no extra charge for room service. On the map it looks very close to the airport, but it's still about 20 minutes away. It has a private beach, but the water is very shallow for a long way out and we never saw anyone swimming in it (just foraging for sea urchins). You cannot walk along the beach to any other places. White taxis ( the cheapest, safest and most comfortable option to get around) can be called in without a surcharge (unlike many other hotels on the island)

Free Wi-Fi was only lobby not in room. And many students are staying.

There's no wifi in the room , the room was very old. The microwave was not working. The window was broken. Then boiler was rusty.

the wall tiles of pool is like a teeth without brashing in one year. i ask a taxi and tricycle in front or labby and they give me a bad drivers that taking advantage of the visitors and i talk to staff but it looks like they don't care. that's why i can't give them a star even one

The hotel looks old. Although,the room was big,it looks old. The tv is old. They only provide two pillows which means one pillow for each two double bed and is quite uncomfortable as two of us sleeping in each bed. Imagined you sleep sharing a small pillow. There is no wifi also in all rooms. Even their lobby the wifi is very weak. During my entire stay i cnt connect to the internet. The service was good as staff were very polite and accomodating. The pool was great but the beach was dirty. Overall,it was just okay. Nothing fantastic.

They need new management. This hotel has potential, but the management causes a bad atmosphere. For example, I was talking to the girl at the counter, then all of a suuden the general manager butts in and act like the front desk girl is not even there. Then I was in the elevator and gm went in and started yelling at the employee in front of my kids. The pool was also managed as if we were visiting a maximum security prison.

It's a worst experience for us booking this hotel!!! When we arrived we are ask by the manager that they will transfer us to another hotel resort as the room we are staying the door cannot be open & it will take awhile someone can open it.The resort staff send us to that said hotel to our surprised its not a resort & no beach or swimming pool its just a small pension house & small room around around 5-8mins drive or 20 mins. walking distance from the resort.EGI Manager lied to us that it will be the same hotel resort type its just no swimming pool but with a beach. We ask the staff to send us back to the resort & just stay for awhile We decided to just go back home straight instead sleeping in that pension house much lower rates per night & big difference with what we paid for this booking as we booked a family room for 4 persons. This booking was a family get away as our family just stay the next town & our 1st time to this resort we just wanted to have a short getaway in a resort & not just sleep in a pension house. Even taxi drivers told us that we should not booked that resort as they are lousy resort we should booked elsewhere. According also to that the pension house staff this resort been doing this kind of thing for such a long time they always over booked the rooms & they will just send the guest to other hotels/pension house lower rates than them. Please don't waste your time in this resort find elsewhere. We won't be back in this resort ever again!

The hotel looks like it is being modernized improved. The outside area around the pool was very tired and staff looked like they were trying to Imove the area. This hotel is mainly catering to the Asian market. Staff struggled with English but we're very friendly. Breakfast was vast with lots of choice. The restaurant was nice but was not used much

We were welcomed with warm and friendly staff, service is good and fast, the buffet breakfast was reasonably good. Hotel was located by the sea and accessible to many restaurants. Overall our stay there was good and would come back and stay there again.

Overall it was a pleasant experienced. The only concern was cleanliness of their facilities.
