EGI Resort and Hotel

I expected a better beach, but the hotel was okay for that price and the pool was ok too. The breakfast was medium good.

Everything about the hotel / resort facilities was very good. The pools were great especially the slide. It is very convenient for any water based activities but no beach as in sand. The service was not good. We are a family of 3. Asked for fresh towels at desk after swim. They never came. Called to ask again. We finally receive one only. There was no high chair for dinner. Grrr. 2 very nice waitresses helped take care of our son while we ate. Mostly this place seems to cater for Korean tour groups. There was one hot Korean there so it was good ha ha. The view of the water, boats and Islands from the balcony is very nice. I would recommend this place for couples and family with young children. It is very close to Mactan grand mall which is good. Taxi to there less than 100P.

They advertise WiFi in public areas but it doesnt work. Kept getting bumped off every 20 minutes and the bandwidth was worse than dialup. Phones dont work in any of the rooms. And no hot water either! The front desk wont credit you for amy of these deficiencies. They just say "sorry sir". This is why they charge in advance coz they know you will check put early. What a nightmare!

The staff are very accommodating.

Generally good. The a/c was not cold enough but room is spacious and clean. Have great view also. Complete room amenities, with microwave oven, ref, water heater, water boiler, had separate kitchen sink. Very nice. Staffs are very courteous and hospitable. Pools are great with slide for the kids. Bar at pool side is also ok. The lowtide didnt give nice view of the beach. Can't swim at the beach, too many sea slugs.

The hotel is nice with big pools, and the room is nice. It even had a little kitchenette, but the air conditioning was below average for such a nice hotel. I'm not sure why they call it a resort though.

Enjoyed the pools. Food we ordered was good. Free breakfast was nice. Should have better grounds management. Perhaps early and late walk arounds. Entrance needs landscaping work. Carpet in the halls would be a big help with noise. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We will come back

Bad experience from arrival, flights were delayed so we arrived later than expected. check in was smooth but we waited a while to get to our room as only one lift was working for all 10 floors of the hotel. we were hungry but all restaurants were closed. The AC in the room is terrible and hummed and cluttered, the shower wasn't working, basically dripped with no actual water, the fridge was broken, which was inexcusable, especially in that amount of heat. All of this was reported several times but the only thing that was fixed was the shower, and even then it was merely running. the staff were pleasant and tried to help, but the actual hotel needs renovation. There was a party a block away with loud music so we stayed up until 3am, we asked to switch rooms but were told we had to pay extra to stay on the other side of the hotel which was quieter. The pools were nice, but were used by people from outside the hotel so a little crowded, the roof top pool was out of use. The breakfast buffet was mainly Filipino food, the lunch/dinner menu was limited but what was served tasted good. The wifi could only be accessed in the lobby and during the day was really bad. I feel like the once the hotel is renovated it would be a better stay.

there was no remote control for airconditional. we should wake up when wee turn on/off airconditional.the hotel suggested ,Use electric breker when we need on/ off time.

Very friendly and courteous staff. They go out of their way to assist hotel guests. I had a problem with the local tour I arranged while I was in Manila. I asked the help of the young lady at the reception area and she helped me without hesitation. She even called another male staff and he used his personal phone to help me talk to the manager of the tour company. Unfortunately, because I was too upset at the tour company, I forgot to get their names. The hotel staff, from the young people assigned to open doors, the receptionists, the kitchen helpers, housekeepers, waiters and waitresses, gardeners, and janitors, are the assets of this hotel. The hotel itself needs major refurbishment but the customer service I experienced at this hotel needs no improvement. They are excellent employees. I thank them all.
