Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House Hotel

Quiet, large rooms with good amenities . The restaurant was very good for dinner . Staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. Room was very clean

The wifi was problematic where we were but we didn’t ask for assistance to be fair as we were only there a night.

Location

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and clean. We could park close to the entrance and our room was in the perfect spot so we didn't have to walk far with the children.

Something so small but we could have done with a larger bin. Everything else was great.

Lovely hotel

the staff were all lovely - warm, friendly and helpful the hotel has a relaxed atmosphere. With good weather, there were plenty of spaces to sit out. When booking we were uncertain about the location but it's a short taxi ride into the city centre and what you gain are pleasant grounds and walks along the river.

There was a function on one night with loud music. Our room was above this. However, the music ended at midnight and when we mentioned it the hotel spontaneously refunded our breakfasts as recognition of the disruption. If booking again, I'd just make sure to check if there is a function on and, if so, ask to be in a room away from the event.
