The African Tulip Hotel

It is no surprise that the Tulip is so highly rated. Excellent and friendly service, beautiful rooms ( we had #10), good and plentiful food and a lovely environment. We truly enjoyed our 3 days there and management is to be congratulated for their achievements.

A small, tidy and refined hotel, the staffs are very friendly. The hotel is historic but well keeped. Very quite environment, and wonderful serivce.

Very nice small hotel in Arusha with large well-appointed room and nice public area and bar. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was only OK.

Very nice quiet place just outside of main hub-bub of Arusha, which is otherwise noisy and dirty.

We (myself, my husband and son) stayed at the African Tulip for a total of 4 nights. The first two nights were after our long journey from California to Tanzania and pre-safari and the second two nights were post- safari. The staff was efficient, friendly and very accomodating. The African Tulip was a very relaxing refuge. Our son has been living in the Arusha area. We were able to comfortably entertain other members of his organization in the hotel's lounge and dining room.

Very clean with a wonderful African flavor and a hint of going back in time elegantly. We were a family requiring two rooms. Each was very spacious and suited our needs completely.

I stayed two nights at the African Tulip just to recover following a camping in safari and to escape the hustle and bustle of Arusha. I had probably the most relaxing day of my holiday just chilling in my room and taking all my meals in the hotel. It really is a serene place. The staff are excellent and very friendly and the most competent I came across during my trip. The rooms are large and beautifully done out. The price of the rooms and the meals etc was reasonable when compared with what I paid in other hotels that were nowhere near this standard in Zanzibar and Dar. In summary I would say this is the perfect hotel to start or end either a safari or a climb of Kili,

The price is too much for the services the hotel can offer. Food wasn't very good and wasn't diverse enough. The buffet fulfilled is not often. However it seems like a problem of many Tanzanian hotels. Fridge in the room wasn't working properly. Room was clean. Bed is comfortable. No complaints.
