Apollonion Asterias Resort and Spa

Really nice hotel, good facilities- pool was spacious with plenty of free sun beds. Very close to a sandy beach. Outdoor cinema which was enjoyable. All the staff made sure we had a lovely stay

There is bar and restaurant you eat and enjoy your evenings good quality food no need to go out something not to forget they gave early check in and late check out free you feel in your home

It was a wonderful hotel, one of the best places we have ever stayed at as a family of five. We stayed in one of the maisonettes and they were fabulous as they had their own pool which linked to a larger one and it was great to have a second bathroom for our teenagers to share upstairs.

We had a great time relaxing at this hotel. Getting there isnt well publicised so we arranges a taxi (through the hotel) which we negotiated a cost of €80 (each way) before we left the UK. If we had researched a little better, we would have found there was a ferry to Laxouri then a taxi to the hotel (my advice-do this) for half the price. On arrival, staff were great, cold drinks were given at the reception, bags were taken and we were shown to our room. Really nice, clean, spacious room bottle of wine and a bowl of fruit to welcome us in. Ventured down to the pool, no problems throughout finding loungers always loads to choose from every day, no need to lay towels out. Pool was a great relaxing treat, quiet and tranquille. We stayed half board, breakfast far and away the best meal the hotel offered, wide ranging selection of any style of breakfast, including a quality full English. Dinner, in our view was dissapointing. Evening entertainment was sparse but did cater for everyones tastes, again a little disappointing bar staff were friendly. We ventured out to the beach which had some nice bars and views, this served as a leg stretch and break with a little more activity and noise. Small mini market offered a nice range of drinks and snack should you wish to stay on you veranda for a night cap. Return to the airport was a breeze using the ferry. All in all, we had a great break at a beautiful hotel, I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing break.

I just can't fault this hotel. Although initially I thought it was not big enough for 5 star, for a small Greek island I would rate as 5 star. We were there with our 7 year old son so was looking for safe, clean, family friendly hotel and the staff working there offered it all. They are incredibly kind, helpful and lovely people. The pool, bar, restaurant, rooms are very very clean and well maintained. Hotel is 5 mins walk to beautiful Xi beach which is sandy, organised with lots of restaurants and mini markets around. I would totally go back and very strongly recommend. Just be aware it is at least one hour taxi ride from the airport which cost us EUR 80 and 1.5 hours away from port Poros for ferry transfers. We strongly recommend you to hire a care to see other parts of the island also which can be arranged by the hotel with parking amenities.

nice modern hotel with everything you would expect. Not really five star but when you compare prices it's very competitive (although wine and drinks typically overpriced!). Outdoor cinema a nice touch though.

Just got back from a two week stay. The hotel is very well run the staff are amazing. The rooms are cleaned daily. Wifi isn't great in the rooms. The restaurant has a great variety of Food great breakfast lots to choose from. The evening food pasta, different meats loads of salads which I loved. Shame there wasn't more fish dishes as I don't eat meat but veggie option was good. The cocktails are great especially the expresso martinis after dinner. We went down to xi beach most days. Baywatch did the best burgers and salads. Also fish bones is to the left of the beach have to walk through the water very authentic food lots of fresh fish. Two weeks was too long for us 10 days would be fine. The food repeats it's self in the restaurant. Did the Thomson boat trip which was great fun went to some lovely beaches. The Greek people can't do enough for you.

We stayed for 10 days with our 8 year old daughter in mid-July 2016. We had previously stayed at the hotel for 7 days in 2014 at the same time of year. Having holidayed in a different country/resort last year, our daughter was adamant that we return to the Apollonion as we had had such a wonderful holiday two years ago. It was the first time that my wife or I had returned to a hotel/resort and the Hotel Apollonion was every bit as good as we remembered. This visit, we were upgraded from a family deluxe to a suite which we actually didn't want. When we went to reception to ask if there was a possibility of being down-graded again, they were so understanding and had us moved within two hours. This sort of helpfulness and customer service permeates every aspect of the hotel staff. The battery in our hire care went flat one morning - the maintenance team (completely of their own accord) sprang into action and eventually phoned the local rent-a-car place to bring round some jump leads. Within 3 minutes, the car was up and running again. Absolutely brilliant. The food in the buffet for breakfast and dinner is great - huge choice and always something for everyone; the view from the rooms (we were in 327) is stunning; the rooms are well appointed and stylish; the outdoor pool and sunbeds are just right; and the cocktail of the day was sampled religiously! Superb holiday and we will definitely return to the Hotel Apollonion for a third time at some point in the future.
