The Charlie Hotel

The Charlie is a charming hotel with a variety of bungalows in the heart of West Hollywood. Grocery shopping is a short walk away to stock up the well-appointed kitchen. There is on-site parking. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I will stay there again when my needs call for an extended stay in West Hollywood.

Second time here. Love love love hotel. My daughter lives across the street so will be my go to for visits. Couldn't be more charming and I love spaciousness in bathroom / love charming spaces to sit and relax.

very cool property with amazing Old Hollywood history. If you go in understanding that this is not a traditional hotel with a 24 hour service desk, have a love for beautifully restored architecture and enjoy shared english gardens, you will thoroughly enjoy this spot!

Unique place to stay in a nice neighborhood. More like renting a cottage apartment than a hotel, with receptionist available. The Gregory suite was quiet and secluded, large and comfortable and clean. Rooms and furniture was bit worn and could use a sprucing up but this was minor details. Liked the semi-private patio with fountain.

I would move in if I could. If you have business going on in Hollywood area, this is the place to be. Very spacious for a one-bedroom small apartment. Full kitchen with full-size appliances, W/D in unit, full bath, complete living room with desk and small table, and a very comfortable king size bed. The grounds are relaxing and there's parking inside the gated compound. The staff are friendly, ready to serve, and responsive. I will stay again next time I'm in LA.

Picked The Charlie on a whim, read mostly good reviews, price was right and I could walk to scheduled meeting/event. WHAT A GREAT SURPRISE! The room is really like an apartment. Full kitchen with breakfast bar that looks out leaded diamond pattern windows opening onto a private brick patio. Old world charm, stucco, architectural uniqueness everywhere (the trite phase, "they don't make 'em like they used to" comes to mind). Built in bookshelves on either side of the archway leading into the kitchen area(complete with several Nancy Drew mysteries); remodeled bathroom, black and white tiles (washer and dyer in a cabinet); French doors open onto a large bedroom with near floor to ceiling windows lining one wall. This view is onto manicured gardens and burbling fountains. I didn't have my dog with me but apparently the hotel is pup-friendly. Cons: Parking is a bear, very small spaces, just a little maneuvering required but vehicle is behind a gate so safe. So peaceful, slept well, clean. Okay, that's enough, check it out, pricing way reasonable compared to surrounding offerings.
