"Exceptional"

My husband and I had a lovely night away at the Llawnroc for my birthday treat. Hotel is clean, room was lovely, food was unreal and the staff are amazing, special mention to bar staff Ant and Lola as they were especially lovely. Would love to stay again.

"Fantastic meal at The Coast Restaurant"

10.0

We have been holidaying in Gorran Haven for many years and have watched the rise and fall of the Llawnroc hotel but the latest reincarnation of the restaurant., now called The Coast Restaurant is a culinary delight. The restaurant has a new more intimate location that still retains its lovely sea view. The front of house team were attentive and professional . The new local chef has created a wonderful menu sourced with very local ingredients , all dishes beautifully presented and delicious , something for everyone . An added bonus is dogs are very welcome ! We highly recommend you give it a try . Thank you to everyone for a lovely evening . We will definitely be back soon .

"Disappointing "

6.0

Sadly this hotel doesn’t reach its potential. It is totally soulless and had no character or charm. Staff were friendly but never around. Dogs were allowed in the dining room at all times and on the terrace furniture. Continental breakfast was sparce to say the least and lacking imagination. Very disappointing as it’s not a cheap place to stay. Approach from the hotel carpark needs considerable attention to the window dressings and cleanliness of large window. Not what I had hoped for

"Brilliant hotel and fabulous location."

10.0

Just returned, had a fabulous weekend. The hotel and staff were first class. The food was truly excellent. This really is a dog friendly hotel, you’re not tucked away in some unloved part of the hotel, the dogs are made welcome from reception to the bedrooms and throughout.

"Lovely last holiday night,......."

10.0

We have been coming to Gorran for nearly 20 years and seen the transformation of this hotel. We have eaten here whenever we have stayed in Gorran and had some lovely meals. We wanted to try the new Coast restaurant and there is a new chef who started in March. WOW!!! We had a fabulous meal! Great attentive manager and team. Drinks weren't too over priced...I had Strawberry and Rhubarb gin...the price included the cost of the mixer....Fevertree Elderflower tonic....lovely!!! My husband had St Austell Tribute which was on tap....nice touch! We decided just have main and dessert so didn't try the starters but the choice looked delicious especially the Scallops. Plenty of choice for vegetarians too. Our mains were lovely....husband had chicken breast in cream sauce with broken mash. I had Newlyn hake with Samphire and I had some seasonal veg on the side. My fish was cooked beautifully and my husbands chicken was soft and succulent....all fresh, hot and tasted fabulous! Desserts did not disappoint either....I had the cheesecake.... chocolate and raspberry indulgence on a plate. My husband had the cheese board...it was huge...I couldn't have eaten it all but tried some of the cheeses. Fruit, fruit cake, biscuits, celery and 4 types of cheese....amazing choice and all local. The smoked Brie was just fabulous. We asked what all the cheeses were and the chef himself came out to let us know. He is lovely and so is his food ...bravo young man! I would thoroughly recommend you go to experience this restaurant. 2 courses for 38 pound was excellent value and finished our holiday in a wonderful way. The hotel is also rather marvellous!!!! Thank you to all at the Llawnroc....we shall be back!!!

"Fabulous food"

10.0

Booked into the restaurant as a non resident, absolutely stunning meal. Scallops for starters were delicious followed by Hake and cheese and biscuits. Couldn’t fault the food at all, one of the best meals I’ve eaten for a long time. Service was also excellent and even a sea view from the outside terrace. Will 100% return

"Superb food and excellent hotel in a beautiful location."

10.0

We have just had a wonderful 3 day visit staying in a lovely Sea View Room with balcony. Very comfortable king sized bed and extremely well equipped. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Our Border Terrier loved it, with dog treats and plenty of space. The food is a real highlight with very talented chefs. We tried starters of Scallops, Smoked Duck Breast salad, Crab Risotto and mains of Monkfish, Cornish Chicken breast, Hake, Shoulder of Lamb and Vegan options are available. All superbly cooked with a variety of subtle vegetable garnish. All a real treat and super desserts too. Breakfasts are an equally delightful experience. The hotel has great outside seating to watch the sun go down, and several lounges to relax. There are many great attractions only a few minutes away. The beach at Gorran Haven is a couple of minutes away and is a wonderful sandy cove, dogs are allowed on all year round. There is an attractive and popular cafe/bar and boat hire and fishing by arrangement. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are highly recommended for a full day out. There is a brilliant cruise from Mevagissey, another lovely harbour village, by ferry to Fowey. The trip is right across the bay and takes 45 minutes. Fowey is a beautiful port on a river estuary and you can also take a boat trip around the port for 45 minutes which is really interesting. The ferry cost is £17 return, and boat trip in Fowey £10. Dogs go Free on both boat trips! You can also park inside the harbour wall near the ferry terminal for £5 for 8 hours and a video online shows how to get there. A fabulous venue in a beautiful part of South Cornwall. We loved it so much we are planning our next visit.

"Comfy hotel in unspoilt seaside village"

10.0

Our three night break was very enjoyable. Our room was clean, with a view of the sea, plenty of hot water, nice hot towel rail, fridge, good storage and hanging space and a comfy bed. Evening meals were delicious, good selection of wines, a well appointed terrace to enjoy the sunset. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of buffet and cooked options. All the staff were very efficient and friendly lead by Anthony, in house, and Darren in the kitchen. Gorran Haven is a lovely little fishing village and the hotel is well worth visiting and good value for money and very dog friendly.
