The Llawnroc

Good staff, nice food. Staff helpful but a little inexperienced

We liked our balcony room which was kept clean with a fridge and safe which were very handy breakfast was very good with a great choice from a continental buffet to having a cooked to order choice from the menu.

We spent the first night of our honeymoon at the Llawnroc before heading to the Scillys - the hotel is lovely! The decor is stylish, the bar area and restaurant very comfortable and the room plush. We were very happy with our stay, had a good night’s sleep and there were some lovely touches such as robes in the bathroom and lovely local fudge. The service was ok - seemed a little under staffed although the hotel wasn’t particularly busy. We chose this hotel due to great reviews of their restaurant but we received a call a day or two before our stay to advise the restaurant wasn’t open for evening meals but there were restaurants a few miles away and taxis available. When we got there we were told taxis are hard to get as they come from St Austell so instead of heading out we wandered down to the quay and had a couple of drinks in a little bar opposite the fish n chips shop and then had said fish n chips and a glass of wine (they have a little restaurant at the front). We were thankful for this as otherwise without getting back in the car our options were very limited. We would stay again and hope they can re-open the restaurant soon though.

Great location near the sea in Gorran Haven. Service was top notch, staff including General Manager Craig went above and beyond to make our weekend stay fantastic. Will definitely be back to continue our exploration of South Cornwall

Great position and views, the road was quite a steep climb down and back to the Beach/Harbour. Very peaceful which was just what we were looking for. Excellent service from a very friendly and welcoming staff.

A nice getaway place with a lovely beach area. Hotel staff really friendly and helpful, I would recommend.

Had room seaview although this was the case it overlooked hotel pub garden (as they all do )so you had to have curtains pulled across for privacy and was very noisy until closing time so didn’t get to see much view without being on view . Also shower was in bath which is quite high and there is no support rail so made it very hard getting in and out of . Cleaning of hotel has gone downhill-since here 5 years ago as has service in restaurant and breakfast along with menus short staffed I believed was the reason but I also hate being called ‘guys’everytime addressed we are retired and clearly not guys this seems to be normal among young staff nowadays and think it needs to addressed and couples especially addressed correctly .

We enjoyed a three night stay at the Llawnroc hotel. Everything was superb. Very clean and tidy, lovely breakfasts and the staff couldn’t have done more to help. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely hotel in a super position overlooking the village and sea. Upgrade to sea view essential or a view if the car park! Rear of hotel a bit grubby. Breakfast excellent, dinner not so good, had to send meals back as they were overcooked. Room clean and tidy, noisy refrigerator. Overall very good but not “superb”.

just had a great stay at the llawnroc hotel, would definitely stay again and recommend to all. all staff were very welcoming and accommodating. very clean spacious room. terrific!!
