Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa All Inclusive

Every morning if our trip Eduardo and Pablo were there in the Colonial lobby for my cappuccino fix. Friendly and a great cuppa

This was my sixth visit from Canada to this resort over the past ten years, and it continues to be my favourite vacation destination. While there have been some changes over time—including optional upgrades that allow guests to further personalize their experience—the heart of this resort remains the same. What truly keeps us returning is the exceptional, knowledgeable, and professional staff. Of particular mention is the Colonial Lobby staff Daniel and Catalina who are absolute gems. Their attention to detail & excellent service did not go unnoticed and was so appreciated! At the Hacienda Buffet Estefania has grown a warm welcome into a beautiful friendship that’s has spanned over the past 7 plus years. There are so many other familiar faces throughout the resort whose consistency, warmth, and attention to detail create a welcoming and safe environment that feels like home. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, clean, and thoughtfully cared for, offering a relaxing and secure setting to unwind and enjoy every moment. It’s the combination of outstanding service, overall safety, and the natural beauty of the property that makes this place so special and keeps us coming back year after year.

We are currently staying at hotel, our package includes both Christmas and New Year and are disappointed! While the resort is chic and clean and staff are generally friendly, this is not a true 5-star hotel. The biggest issue is the two-tier system. After paying a very high price (about $12,000 CAD for 3 people), we discovered many restaurants, beaches, pool and even average drink brands require additional daily fees, ~$100/day and that is even full! What’s included is very limited, and the quality of drinks is poor. The b3ach we can use is very rocky and they separated the more Sandy beach to those paid extra! Restaurants included in the basic package are always fully booked, and the buffets are extremely overcrowded. Today the line was over 200 meters, with long waits even, near 1 40 min, after management intervened. Overall, the resort feels overcrowded, overpriced, and misleadingly advertised. We would not consider this a 5-star experience.

This resort has a beautiful setting among the jungle. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and kept clean. The only improvement I would suggest is to improve the food in the buffet eating areas. If you're coming for a stay make sure the first thing you do after checking in is make your dinner reservations!

Lovely all exclusive resort where the staff can’t do enough for you. Yes, the rooms may be a bit tired, and the door needed fixing twice during our stay, but ignore this! FOOD - plenty of options with Buffet restaurants as well as Argentinian, Brazilian, Italian, Japanese and Mexican. Loved the Brazilian so much, we went there twice due to the amazing service. Buffet is good for breakfast and lunch with so many options, even the fussiest of eater would find something to eat. Always hot and well prepared. There is also a “pay extra” venue - Bravo - which offers cabaret style entertainment while you have a meal. Was there for the wife’s birthday and they looked after her really well. DRINKS - whether you are sitting around the pool or in the bar area, the drink service is great. You won’t wait long for a drink as the waitresses are attentive and will serve you quickly. BEACH - plenty of space for sunbeds and it’s lovely to walk along. They ensure all the seaweed is removed asap. Did notice a fair amount of plastics though. ENTERTAINMENT - evening shows consisting of singers, dancers, bingo and that sort of thing. Have seen better, but the shows are good enough to watch. POOLS - the swimming pools are huge so there is no need to get up at 4am to bag a sunbed! There are always plenty of beds available. We spent most of our time at the smaller Adults Only pool… All in all I could spend ages writing more, but in short, ignore any negative comments and check it out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

Very clean resort with lots to do, always had pool chairs available. All the alacarte were amazing. Would highly recommend this resort to couples and family’s!

Just returned December 21st from the Grand Palladium Colonial resort south of Puerto Aventuras Mexico and had a great time. Air Canada included transport from the newer Tulum Airport so don’t book through Expedia. Check in was efficient and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The lobby was somewhat decorated for Christmas with a big tree which was nice. You can access the three hotels’ amenities throughout the Palladum complex via the various shuttles and although I did mostly walk around and did visit the other hotel areas. I primarily stayed for my Colonial’s amenities where there is nightly entertainment at the theater area and bar just off the main lobby, with a Sports Bar adjacent to it to watch the various games if you’ve had enough of the sun and fun. There is a really nice supervised kids water park with a slide and water dumping bucket and I saw they had a kids disco on Monday night by the volleyball court where families were having lots of fun. The Rock night was absolutely fantastic as well as the other evenings’ entertainment. Sunday casino night for fun with an auction for a POP T-Shirt at the end as well as a Bingo night where the entertainment staff were excellent and always did things to engage the guests with dancing and various interactives. Water in both the large pool complex and the ocean were excellent. I bring my own snorkel, mask and flippers and was able to see lots of fish around a coral mass near the limit of the designated swimming area. The ocean was never closed and the gentle wind kept any bugs away. Early in the morning a tractor pulls a raking cart to clear the sea grass and the long beach is great for walking with lots of people swimming daily. Friendly staff everywhere, no issues with getting a reclining chair at the pool complex nor the beach. The beach snack area has burgers, hot dogs, salad, soft serve ice cream etc. daily if you don’t want to access either the indoor buffet or the outdoor one (which I did mostly for breakfast and lunch). The two main buffets had a very good selection. Beef wasn’t much to speak of, but there was lots of variety. I would have liked to see a couple nights having a wider fish selection, with maybe with a custom grilling station that I’ve experienced at many other Caribbean resorts. I’ve been to several islands in the Caribbean and this was my first time to Mexico and I’d definitely recommend the Grand Palladium Colonial and will definitely be returning.

Gerardo at the Adelina restaurant was wonderful! Very helpful with the menu and provided excellent service! Would highly recommend the Adelina at the Colonial Palladium resort

Overall my stay was ok, the room was not comfortable, very cold and the a/c unit was very loud. Bed was not so comfortable
