"Good"

8.0

Close to airport and to Nizny city center. Professional welcome in a large hotel style lobby and reception desk. Nice and clean all-white entrance and lobby. Clean rooms, well furnished and foreseen with all you need and expect in an internationally oriented business hotel. Only minus: the breakfast is worthless (as in many Russian hotels unfortunately). No orange juice, no good bread (dry stuff) and actually not worth spending your time, let be money, in that place.

"Удобный отель. Великолепное обслуживание."

10.0

"Oka Hotel"

8.0

This is a huge and nice hotel located not far from city center, easily accessible by public transport or taxi or own car. Hotel staff is good. Hotel has a restaurant as well. It is possible to find tasty food, but not so economic price. There is free internet access via wi-fi in rooms. It is possible to find comfortable and free car park area. Next to hotel there is nice bar.

"Far from city centre"

6.0

Hotel is quite far from the city centre. There are two areas within the hotel- 3* where I stayed and 4*. 3 star looks basicaly like nice dorm. Just two beds, one table and basic bathroom. Enough for a short trip but definitely not luxurious. Good food.

"A Real Let Down"

4.0

We arrived at Nizny Novgorod after an excellent hotel in Yekaterinburg. We walked into a well appointed Reception which was lovely and cool on a hot 34degree day. We were quickly booked in and given our keys. We went up in the small lifts, only room for two people plus cases and found a small rather tatty and not particularly clean room. Others in the group had even worse rooms. After complaints from our guide we were moved to a slightly better room which had been renovated. The room was very warm and had no air con or fan. We have never stayed in a hotel which purports to be 3or4 star and where temperatures regularly are in the thirties that did not have a fan as a minimum. Even worse the curtains were almost transparent and bright sunlight streamed through from 4.00 am. We had a very hot night and poor sleep. We decided to eat in in the evening. The quality of the meal was fine but the service unbelievably slow. It took 25 minutes to get our first drinks and it was the most expensive beer of the three weeks we have been travelling 50% more than the night before and 75% more than we have paid tonight in a far better establishment. Breakfast was fine but this is the first hotel I have ever reviewed that I would not recommend.

"Very good"

8.0

There are two hotels in Oka: Business (3-star) and Premium (4-star). I've Stayed in Premium during 2-nights business trip to Nizhniy and was fully satisfied with the hotel: excellent and large rooms, excellent bathroom and good places to eat and rest: restaurant with awesome, panoramic view, jazz cafe with live music and other places like sport gym, swimming pool, billiard, bowling etc. among the disadvantages is a high price and the fact that the hotel is far from centre.

"Good option for business travellers"

6.0

The Hotel has two sections, a three star Business Hotel and a 4 star "Grand" hotel. I stayed in the latter and had a suite which was quite spacious, although the furniture was a bit aged and the sofa had some stains on it. Bed- and bathroom were fine. The Lobby is very modern and the check in staff spoke adequate english. The breakfast, however was disappointing and did not have a good selection. No rolls just bread, the so called omelette had a strange texture and the Yogurt tasted not at all like fruit. The hotel is off-center and next to the hockey stadium. It is also adjacent ot a large nightclub/discothek which is busy until the early morning hours on weekends - if your room faces this section it could be noisy. When I checked out early saturday morning, the customers were still dancing. Overall my stay there was adequate and I would come back.

"Excellent Hotel for Nizhni Novgorod"

8.0

I rarely rate hotels, but because I am offended by the negative reviews of this hotel, I provide this information. I am an American attorney who is often in Russia. I would consider this one of the best hotels in Russia's regions. Of course, it is not a luxury hotel. Some aspects of it, such as the lifts and overall layout are slightly Soviet. But it is an excellent hotel for Nizhni Novgorod and for the value. First, the rooms are of reasonable size, modern, and clean. Second, the value is terrific. My double room cost 5000 rubles which was about $100 with two 400 ruble vouchers for food, which could be used in the café, restaurant, or breakfast. We had dinner in the café which was very good Russian food. Third, the free WiFi through worked well. Fourth, the overall facilities -- fitness club of very modern quality, bowling alley, restaurants, bar, etc. were very good. Fifth, the location is slightly south of the center of the city, but not more than a short taxi ride to the local attractions. Sixth, the staff were very helpful, but because I speak Russian, I cannot offer an opinion on how more foreign travellers might fare. But, for business people or thrifty tourists, this is a good deal. This is not a "1" hotel. It is clearly a "4", given its location in Russia's regions and price range. One could do far, far worse in the regions.
