Westgrove Hotel

The room was very clean and comfortable.

Poor customer service. The food at lunch was not up to standard and overall we were disappointed with it. We ordered two sandwiches and a side of chips. They forgot to bring the chips and a few minutes after we had been served our sandwiches we mentioned the order of chips to a very pleasant waiter (unsure of his name). We waited an additional 30 minutes for the chips as we assumed they forgot about them. We had higher hopes for dinner and to our disappointment we were met with very poor customer service from staff. The starter of chicken wings were tasty. Our mains however were not. My boyfriend’s burger was very sloppy and bland. I got the roast of the day which was roast beef. Quite leathery and the veg was dry. We had ordered a jug of water during the meal which never arrived to our table. We were never asked during the meal if we were okay or required anything else. When we had finished the meal we waited a long time for the table to be cleared. A man wearing a suit which we assumed was a manager came over and cleared the plates and said absolutely nothing to us. He didn’t ask if everything was okay or we needed anything else. He didn’t even look at us which I thought was quite rude. We would have stayed for another drink but we decided to move to a separate lounge because we felt as though we were being ignored by staff. It is understandable to forget items for a table but it wasn’t busy at all and it felt like it was a recurring issue. We had a coffee in the lounge after and headed up to our room. Breakfast the following morning was a bit better but not exceptional by any means. We were asked our room number upon arrival and asked if we wanted tea or coffee and toast I said yes to a young man and a few minutes later he brought over a pot of coffee and tea and toast. We were told that americanos or cappuccinos were extra and not included in our package. So anytime we wanted more tea coffee or toast we had to ask a server.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff excellent especially the staff in dining room. Breakfast was lovely

Great room, lovely and clean. Loved the added extra of having the fan as it was a hot day 🌞 Dinner was beautiful (Thai red chicken curry)

I feel that there wasn't a great selection at breakfast although I was there long before breakfast finished.
