Corse Lawn House Hotel

Very well presented hotel. Only issue I had were long gaps in attention and service at dinner. From being shown to a table, getting a drink, ages between starter and main course. Wine glass stayed empty for ages after Ist round. The gentleman who attended at breakfast conversely was attentive, quick and well organised.

We live nearby but had never visited. This is a rural hotel and restaurant with good parking. The building is attractive, though inside feels a little dated. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. I had a roast which was lovely, but not outstanding.

Parking ...welcome ...bedroom and lovely hospitality in the bedroom such as fresh fruit... homemade biscuits... tea leaves! ....alarm clock ..good evening meal ... freshly. squeezed orange juice and lovely porridge.

Well, we absolutely loved our stay here, based on a Travelzoo offer. Absolute value for money. The staff were very warm and welcoming and there was a feeling that they couldn't do enough to make your stay a good one. Our room had a tray of fresh fruit, fresh ground coffee, leaf tea and home made shortbread biscuits - where else do you get such a complimentary tray. A small fridge held two bottles of water, one sparkling and one still. The room was a good size, the bathroom large too but possibly in need to a little update but with plenty of character. As we had a dog we were required to eat in a small dining room, not the main restaurant ....... this was a lovely room, and with only 4 tables it was like private dining. Cocktails before dinner were excellent value and the food really hit the mark. Breakfast was excellent too, the kipper spot on. The swimming pool again a little dated but who cares? Would we return? We would love to, we had a great stay in a place full of character.

A return visit to the Corse Lawn did not disappoint. This Queen Anne building has a lovely character and atmosphere, if in need of a little TLC in some places. However the staff and service they provide are beyond fault. Nothing is too much trouble. No instant coffee or tea bags here! Huge, comfortable bed. The food is cooked beautifully. We loved the lentil, coconut and coriander soup. Well done to Mrs Hine and her staff for a lovely stay.

What an exquisite and quintessentially English hotel. Absolutely perfect in every respect. The friendliness and efficiency of all staff is outstanding. The menu choice and food quality are of the highest category and the large fully equipped bedrooms and the various communal rooms are all immaculately clean. To epitomise our delight at our stay, I would liken the Corse Lawn Hotel to two previous perfect hotels visited and greatly enjoyed, namely the Danieli (Venice) and Burgh Island (Devon) . The Corse Lawn may lack the panorama of the Grand Canal or of the Atlantic Ocean, it is however encompassed by the beautiful English countryside, and does have a rather spectacular duck pond enhancing its very picturesque aspect.

Corse lawn felt like coming home. Friendly professional staff on arrival. Beautiful grounds. Well stocked bar superb menu and scrumptious breakfast. The swimming pool was a bonus It was lo9vely to have proper leaf tea and filter coffee in the rooms. Loved the décor.

Location is perfect and very tranquil

In serious need of renovation and modernisation. The place needs a good clean. The staff member that ‘greeted’ us on arrival was not at all helpful and welcoming. In fact she seemed unhappy we had arrived!! Never ever have I had to order cereal, orange juice and fruit. Usually this is ‘help yourself’ but it felt like the hotel was scrimping on breakfast. In our room we had broken glass in a window, ripped and worn curtains, dust and a step back to the 1980’s. So sad as the place could be lovely.
