Corse Lawn House Hotel

The location was ideal for us on this occasion as we were catching up with friends nearby, and we were after more of a rural getaway. So just perfect 👌 The cooked breakfast was delicious, and service impeccable.

Maybe the decor is a little dated, but that also added somewhat to the individuality and feel of the hotel. However we learnt that the hotel had just recently been bought by new owner who will soon be replacing curtains and carpets.

There is something very old fashioned about the Coarse lawn, Its decor is dated and firmly stuck in the 1980's. There is a "Fawlty Towers" characeteristic to the reception. It needs money spent on it and everything looks like it might fall apart at any moment. And yet there is something totally charming about the place. There is a real focus on quality; the bed had sheets and blankets rather than a duvet but was wonderful to sleep in. There were delicious homemade biscuits with the tea and coffee in our room and there was a pint of milk in the fridge. The towels were soft and generous and the breakfast utterly delicious. Would definitley stay again as the hotels heart is exactly in the right place.

The shower head on our bathroom needs de-clacifying and if it was any hotter we would have roasted in our room - air-conditioning is recommended for summer months

This is a lovely family run hotel which has the essential ingredient of being attentive to all guests needs. We love coming back here - so central and lovely walks nearby for our Labrador.

A fabulous friendly greeting from Sally which set the tone for our two day stay. We were in a large comfortable room with large bath and walk in shower as requested, but accessability into shower wasn't that easy - right on the corner inches away from window. First time we've had tea leaves and teapot, also ground coffee, with home made shortbread biscuits on the welcome tray. The platter of fresh fruits was very welcome, as was the fresh milk in the concealed fridge The bar and restaurant staff very friendly and efficient. Dinner menu was great, but if staying for five or more nights might be a bit repetitious. We understand that the hotel has been sold but that all staff are being retained - very good news.
