The bed was comfortable and bathroom facilities were good

We booked this property nearly a year in advance I phoned two nights before to reserve a table to eat and drink on the day after we attended the racing only to be told that there would be no facilities as the eating and dining would be closed.when we arrived the place was in darkness there was a note on the outside door with our name on it letting us know where to find the key to the room and not to lock main door which I felt uncomfortable with as it remained unlocked all night .The room was adequate and comfortable and they opened for breakfast next day which was nice but my main point there was no indication that this place would have been closed with no eating or drinking facilities on the 1st on booking .com .or the sun inn.we had to try and find somewhere to eat which was a half hour walk to get there and then the same back again . If I had not called to book a table for dinner we would have been none the wiser I felt really disappointed I feel either the owners should make people aware of this or yourselves so we could have prepared for this or chosen a different place which was open. I would not have booked this place I know it was a bank holiday in Scotland due to new year . I see it’s being advertised for next year so people looking for a nice overnight stay with food and drink on New Year’s Day should avoid here be aware that you only have the use of the room I would not book again due to this .

The one breakfast we had was excellent. Evening meal was excellent on Christmas eve.

On Boxing day no breakfast was offered even though I had received several emails saying breakfast was included. The staff were having the day off which they deserved but I would've expected a Continental breakfast or similar could've been provided. We ended up buying cereal and milk from a corner shop.

Rooms and the facilities are good

Restaurant closes at 8pm and the bar closes at 9pm

We have had a lovely stay at the sun, food was excellent and the staff were friendly and very helpful.Although on the main road road noise was ok and good links for the bus service. many thanks to all the staff and have a lovely xmas

Great staff,great food ,it was only xmas menu it pricey

room was great comfy bed slept well tv was awfull,unresponsive one channel and am good with tech. overall wud stay again.
