arrived exhausted and hungry after a day of racing at Home Pierrepoint. There had been no pre warning that a wedding party had taken over the hotel and clearly not enough staff to cater for everyone. We had to hunt down a staff member to check in. We had a table booked for dinner, when we came down there was no table ready we were sent to the bar whilst a table was cleared and laid. We waited a long time for someone to take our order, one main course took nearly 90minutes to arrive and it was inedible. The room was tired and grotty

staff not great, got there and given incorrect room, was told there were no twin rooms left so can somebody not sleep on a bed settee? Once i asked for a refund the correct room suddenly appeared, next door to my original room. Beautiful building but old and tired rooms, desperately needed decorating. I wouldn't stop here again, only saving grace for me was the good breatfast.

Didn’t know we were on 2nd floor and no lift, with guest with heart condition . Wish we had known this on booking. Room rather cold and dark, poor illumination, no bedside light. Room in need of refurbishment,
