Nice hotel, great location! The room was sparse, the bathroom was a little moldy on the ceiling. Lots of street noise, but this would apply to any hotel facing the malecón. I would stay here again.

"Affordable rooms so don’t expect to much, fun area. "

6.0

*Let me start with the positives. Ok for the price was ok. Nice views from the balconies, breathtaking sunsets, all rooms have ocean view, big rooms, staff keep facilities super clean, easy access to market, restaurants, casino. Restaurant is small but it’s actually pretty good with traditional Mexican food, lady was making hand corn tortillas (yummy). Maids in floor 6 and 7 were great, my room was always clean and the hallways as well. Nice walks at the malecon, mercado is few blocks away where you can find a lot of food all day and night. Safe area. Yes we had a lot of fun, drinking at the pool and the beach-super cheap. A small ride to the bars at night time. Maybe 60-90 pesos (4-7 dlls). *The negatives No water for 24hours, some of the kids got sick diarrhea/vomiting and it was no water to flush the toilet, my uncle was going downstairs and getting water from the pool. (Management brought some buckets of water to our rooms when they knew kids were sick) -Hotel is very old and need a lot of maintenance. Old Furniture with holes, doors uneven. All the rooms look the same some furnitures are white others black/grey. If you are a member you can get a refrigerator with a mini kitchenette. AC worked pretty good in floor 7, I had to call maintenance to fix it when move to floor 6. We were a group of 4 families. 2 working elevators- always full- take the one at the right end is a little faster. Pool is small but ok. There is a bar at the lobby with 1 pool table, drinks are cheap. Bathrooms are always clean, even with all those customers going in and out wet and with sand. CONCLUSION. This hotel is right in the middle of the action in Mazatlan, it has a lot of potential but unfortunately the hotel needs a lot of improvement. I hope management will do something with this hotel like fixing the doors, furniture, balconies, bathrooms. An extra shower head somewhere at the entrance for the customers full of sand will be great. There is a lot more hotels to choose but a lot more expensive. We stayed at El Cid and the Local last time and that area has more international Tourist, the hotels are bigger, modern and more comfortable. Will I come back? Maybe, I actually enjoyed my family trip. It was crazy, loud, a lot of laughs and hugs with there up and downs it was a great mini vacation.

"Unbelievable, it is misery !"

Photos at website do not represent not even close with what you will encounter. Rooms are worst than the cheapest motel. Best to sleep on the floor than in bed. Do not use the bathroom if you do want to get a disease

"Carnaval parade viewing disaster!"

2.0

It was our first Carnaval in Mazatlan, and I wanted a nice place to view the Sunday parade. I heard about Hotel Hacienda. The cost for the bracelet (which allowed for free buffet and free drinks) was about $30 (US dollars). I emailed and was contacted back about availability. So far, so good. I had some concerns about having to show up and claim chairs (no reserved seating) at 1:00 with the parade starting at 5:30, but I figured for the food, drinks, clean bathrooms, seating along the route, it was going to be one of those things we have to put up with. We got there at 12:30 and had been told that doors opened at 1:00. No. Doors opened at about 2:30. We could have had decent seats, considering our place in line, but there were so many “experienced” Hacienda parade viewers that knew all the tricks—saving seats for people not in line, writing names on sheets of paper, joining friends in the front of the line, sneaking to the front of the line. It was pretty ridiculous. Food was marginal. To save our own seats, we had to sit in the sun and eat with our plates in our laps. This experience seemed to bring out the worst in people—locals and visitors alike. Never again.

"Worst place I have ever visited in my entire life!"

2.0

Came here for a brief trip around the city. Upon first impression, the hotel looks really nice from the outside. Inside is where the nightmare begins. The elevator is unsafe and unstable because the doors open and close very harshly (sometimes leaving a gap), it shakes a lot, and only 6 people at a time can go on the elevator. Inside the hotel room, the conditions are that of a typical poor person's house. The decor is dated, the AC unit is loud, the balcony is unstable and not to level, there is very minimal lighting, the bathroom had mold (especially around the shower), the kitchen is very mediocre with no working sink with a dated tiny stove that was missing its knobs, and the furniture was falling apart! To make matters worse, I couldn't sleep all night because the banda was playing on the 9th floor (I was on the 7th floor) from between 10 pm and 3 am. You can hear the super loud music and the people's footsteps from dancing. If you can spend a little more money, please avoid this place at all costs! This place should be condemned!
