Backyard Hotel

Stayed at backyard before and after our trekking trip. Would recomend staying here. Clean, nice staff, good location, good value, good breakfast. Nice manager too. They are expqndinf and making rooms for all budgets. Would recomend staying.

It was a little difficult ti find, but with some friendly local help I found to the hotel.Very nice and friendly staff. Reception was very noisy one evening and the street was a little noisy, but I would definately go back and stay there if I ever go back to Katmandu

I stayed here three nights at the start of my trip and was totally overwhelmed by the area because of the noise, traffic and navigating my way around. The hotel picked me up with a sign that had my name on it and the guys at the front were very pleasant to deal with and helpful with any inquiries. Breakfast has some decent choices (any type of eggs, toast, tea, coffee, cereal) and is served on the very pleasant rooftop terrace. The room was perhaps a little bit aged but clean with a hot shower, decent tv, and poor wifi. I found it a bit noisy when trying to sleep. They have a booking desk for tours which I used to book a driver to Nagarkot and Bhaktapur. Overall it was priced accurately and the location was right in Thamel (restaurants, vendors, Durbar square, loads of other tourists) if that's what you're looking for. My stay in the Boudhnath area has been much more relaxing with the same access to amenities.

Vi havde ikke de store forventninger, da vi bare skulle have nogle billige overnatninger i kathmandu. Men standarden var fornuftig, dog kunne rengøringen godt havde været grundigere. Kathmandu var beskidt og stressende, men vi fandt alligevel ro på hotellet, og en følelse af hjemme. Personalet var helt fantastiske, gobi, hankis og sagar gjorde deres for at vores ophold blev over opfyld over alt forventning. Vi søgte råd om vores videre tur hos hotellets travel manager, og sørger for at planlægge og booke resten af vores ophold i nepal. Overordnet et helt tilfredstillende ophold, med masser af latter.

Only 15 minutes by walk from Durban Square. Staff young and very kindly. Breakfast with good quality of foods. Cleaning ok. In general all excellent at an honest price.

Great value for money. Staff is attentive. Breakfast was yummy. And even with the power issues of Nepal, 24-hour fast wifi!

the service and the co-operation was excellent the approach and dealing with customer was superb look forward to visit again
