Backyard Hotel

ネパールの電力不足事情で携帯電話などの電気製品の充電はできませんでした。必要な場合はレセプションで使ってるコンセントを借りました。テレビや扇風機が置いてありましたが、上記の理由で使えませんでした。また、エレベーターがないため、4階の自分の部屋や屋上（8階）への行き来は結構大変でした。あと外にあるトイレ付きシャワールームが戸を閉めると電気がつかないため真っ暗でした。仕方ないので用を足すときやシャワーを浴びる時は少しだけ扉を開け、廊下の灯りが入るようにしました。普通の日本人観光客ならNGのホテルですね。ただスタッフが真面目で親切だったのが救いでした。

It was like staying with family, everyone employed at the hotel was helpful and very friendly. The hotel is in the heart of Thamel and about a 15 minute walk to Durbar Square. If you needed any type of bookings around Nepal or Kathmandu, they could organise it. Going on a mountain flight past Everest should be on the top of your wish list. I hope to return later this year to Backyard Hotel.

thank you for making us feel like at home for our last days in Nepal. everyone was really nice, rooms look great and clean, I'd only recommend one detail to the owner (really nice guy!). make some of the rooms non-smoking, our was quite stinky ...

The backyard hotel covered all the basics. It wasn't fancy, but clean enough. The rooms were simple, but comfortable, and had a fan - which was a nice surprise. Cable TV as well, with some English news programs. Bathroom was shared, but we had it to ourselves during our Two night stay. Breakfast om the terrace was pretty good. Staff of hotel was very polite. If you are looking to stay in thamel on a budget, this is a pretty good deal. Would stay again. Tons of great eateries and stores around.

My wife and I stayed at the Backyard Hotel late April, 2013. The rooms were standard rooms. Nice and clean with hot water all the time. The hotel is located in the middle of Thamel. The amenities of the hotel are spectacular. The staff is exemplary. Durga is the best. From the pick up at the airport by Sagar, to the complementary breakfast, free tea and coffee and excursion planning, no other hotel can compare. Durga personally assissted us in the purchase of ear rings and a nose ring for my wife and took us to several shops for purchase of gits for family members. I can not speak highly enough of the king service provided by ;the staff at the Backyard Hotel. I wholeheartedlly recommend this hotel in Katmandu

The hotel is very good situated, but the best things is the service that the workers give you, the staff people is worderfull.

Hotel is located somewhere in the middle of Thamel, popular touristic place in the city. And there are many souvenir shops, cafes, bars around. Hotel also has its own travel desk where possible to book different trips inside the country. Staff is amazing, very friendly, helpful. They do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. To be honest i was impressed as did not expect such a warm hospitality. I would like to thank all people working there, especially manager Sunil. The only thing i did not like is very loud music from the nearest club that you can hear from some rooms (i was told that not from all) in the evening. They play this music approx. till 23:00 - 23:30. So for those guests who do not plan to sleep before this time it will not be a problem. Generally i can say that it's nice small hotel with very friendly atmosphere.

The motel staff try hard to please and respond quickly to your needs. Travel and tourism events are arranged by the motel which is very convenient. The rooms are basic but comfortable and have excellent air conditioning. The one negative was a night club nearby that seemed to play the same music every night but it always closed before midnight. The electricity load shedding is a fact of life in Kathmandu but didn't cause any problems for me. I'd stay here again.

Stayed in this hotel for 6 nights,,,,,staff are bloody marvelous,very friendly and approachable, they are always concern of your comfortability and making sure you are happy of your stay in Kathmandu.The hotel is very nice for the price with good internet access(wifi),plus free tea/coffee 24/7, room are cleaned every day with new sheets and towels, good breakfast as well. I am very much happy with my stay in this hotel and I highly recommend this place.

Nice and fairly basic hotel in Thamel area of Kathmandu. Conveniently located, though taxi did struggle to find it initially from the airport. Room is quite clean, though basic. Room did have a small tv, air conditioning and reasonably comfortable bed. There is a nightclub in close proximity to the hotel which can be rather loud, though fortunately doesn't go on too late into the night. Hotel is in a pretty good location in Thamel, shops and other amenities are closeby. Staff are all very good and friendly. There is also free wifi in the hotel and a computer in the lobby area. It's also possible to make travel arrangements at the hotel as well. I'd be quite happy to go back again and stay at Backyard Hotel.
