"We came for a family funeral. So the location was perfect for our stay."

9.0

The breakfast was very good.

We couldn’t shut the bedroom window as there was a piece of wood holding up. So we had the noise from the road.

A lovely old coaching inn, with a friendly local feel.

Room was quite basic and comfortable, but with an excellent bathroom.

"Ok - decent value."

6.0

Good value for money - £121 B&B. The room was clean.

The staff were generally very young, and seemed very inexperienced, and weren't at all proactive in serving customers, causing long queues at the bar. The room was decent, but lacking useful furniture to put stuff on. It was almost like it had been recently redecorated, but the furniture hadn't been put back in. The window was wedged open with a water bottle......?? Finally, breakfast was ok, but it took 45 minutes to arrive!

"Wouldn’t recommend"

1.0

Location good and they got a travel cot ready for us.

The pub played music until way past 11:20 pm. With 2 small children it wasn’t acceptable. It’s ok for the pub to play music as it was a Saturday night but the family room shouldn’t be directly above where the music is. I went downstairs to complain twice, first time the gentleman didn’t even apologise. Second time, they said ‘what do you want me to do about it?’ . We didn’t get to sleep until gone midnight because of the noise of the pub and because the curtains were thin, we woke when the sun did. So went on an early morning walk around penkridge. The breakfast we had the following morning took ages (an hour plus) to arrive, apparently there was only one chef in the kitchen, even though we had reserved the meal as we had a big group booking.

"Accommodation too expensive, which is a shame as the food is very good"

4.0

Evening food menu very good. Food is well presented and of a very good standard.

Breakfast was too slow. Couldn’t wait for the breakfast meal, therefore price is too expensive. Also shower fitting poor quality, kept falling off the fitting.

"Staff fantastic - lovely quaint building and establishment."

9.0

Full English breakfast included in deal - this was excellent. Staff super friendly and accommodating, great asset to the business

No airco - but not a deal breaker at all. It is an ""old style inn"" -- and fulfills this.
