Good food and relaxing hotel

Perfect location with service to match! The restaurant is great and great value too with true French dining, even the basic menu is five course but you can choose the gourmand menu, the basic menu is only twenty two euros! This hotel is also dog friendly, perfect as we had our labrador with us. Don't just stay one night - treat yourselves!

Room 9 was fine of itself although the owner did not respect the price arranged via Hotels.com. Sadly, although the hotel is a Relais du Silence we could all too clearly hear the owner's family tramping about overhead through a very thin ceiling, late at night. Good internet connection.The restaurant has pretensions but the meal was lack lustre, for example a fish/gratin main course that tasted of little except excess salt, or the porc travers that was little more than lukewarm. Breakfast was entirely self service: an appearance by a staff member to make sure all was in order or even to say good morning would have been a very good idea at the price charged.

Well furnished and comfortable rooms in this of the beaten track hotel. Excellent restaurant, good breakfast and easy access from the motorway make this a good place to stop over when travelling through France.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for one night on our way from Dieppe to a gite in Brittany. The location was fantastic, on a beautiful lake in stunning French countryside, the staff were friendly and courteous and the food was of a very high standard. I have not eaten a better meal in many years and the complimentary bites made it six courses! The price was very reasonable for such quality cuisine. Breakfast was typically French with bread jams, ham cheeses, coffee juice etc. The hotel has beamed ceilings, we had a colour TV in our room, complimentary Wi-Fi, a Jacuzzi with coloured lights in it, home made liqueur as a welcome drink and a power shower with side jets Treat yourself and go an stay at Les Etangs de Guibert. We will definitely be going back. It is worth every penny (Euro cent?)

Lovely location and wonderful food in the restaurant. Rooms slightly dates but clean and so peaceful.

Just a perfect place to stay at the start of our holiday & to break our journey.Owners were charming & very helpful. The food was excellent.

We stopped one night here. The setting is very peaceful on the edge of a lake and the room was fairly large. The restaurant was beautiful but we would have preferred a simpler healthy menu option.

The hotel is a few miles from the motorway , but well worth the short detour. The old farmhouse is out in the country, with its own lake, in a very peaceful and pleasant location. It has a large car park on the other side of the country lane. Our room was very good with views over the garden and lake, it was full of old world charm but with a very hi-tech en-suite bathroom. The restaurant was fabulous and we had a superb evening meal there, watch out for the salad and cheese board selection served between the main course and dessert. We drove down from the midlands, took the 12:50 Eurotunnel and then drove down to Les Etangs, arriving about 6:30. The hotel and restaurant are not cheap, but they are excellent value for money and well worth the extra euros.
