Northern Hotel Brechin

Although my husband & I found the room rather small overall it was very clean, quiet & had a great nights sleep.

Not happy that paid 76.68 for room which had walk in disabled shower which was bigger than the bedroom. Noisy disco right next door which wasn't told about when booking which should have been told and then this morning we were asked to pay for breakfast. Not happy and the reception said it was due to booking through expecldia and I had paid 64. I had paid 76.68 so the additional monies must go to expedia. I feel some sort of compensation should be applicable.

We booked the 1 bedroom apartment. I have never been so disappointed, it was across a main road from the hotel. The entrance was through a very dirty dilapidated door. Up a flight of very smelly stairs and into what can only be described as poor staff accommodation. Fridge door wouldn’t shut, lamp was broken, no instructions on how to use the dirty cooker, bedroom wardrobe was full of bedding on the floor, bed felt damp, apartment smelled musty,couldn’t turn the heating on.. when I booked I spoke to the hotel and was told the apartment was only up 2 stairs.. it was up a flight of stairs ! So I had to carry my border collie dog up every time I went in or out.. I had explained to the lady I spoke to at reception that my dog had no use in her hind legs too. The owner was going away on holiday the next day so wasn’t really interested in my dissatisfaction. The only plus side was the manager on my departure, when I told her of the problems she was very apologetic but unfortunately our stay had already been ruined.
