Card details are taken in advance to secure the booking and to process payments for late cancelations / no shows or if the property is damaged. "Guest House in Ely requires health and safety inspection in my view"

Location

Internal layout of guesthouse. Bedroom 2 door dangerously located directly off staircase. Bedroom door lock was antiquated and difficult to operate. Room inadequately equipped or serviced - no soap, showergel or shampoo in bathroom. Towel rail fell to pieces during stay, and not repaired. No hairdryer. Tea, coffee and milk supplies also poor.

Excellent location in town centre - an old building with beams and character Friendly host Comfortable bed Excellent shower

Furniture and decor was quite dated but it gave the room some character!

I thought it was extremely overpriced gor what it was you had to make a call to mobile no to get the staff to check you in I was later than planned unfortunate due to family illness Just felt I was ripped cash only too !

The location is superb...just off the main street and across the road from the cathedral and offers cheaper tarrifs than other local accommodation.. Saying that, it did feel overpriced for a single room with shared bathroom. Good communication by staff who me me at the address. It's certainly not as bad as the reviews make out so long as you realise you are not staying in a 4 or 5 star hotel. It's clean enough, comfy enough, the tv works, its slap bang in the centre and has a car park next door! I always use earplugs so wasn't disturbed by traffic, pelican crossing or pub next door. I was also told by a local that the food in the Thai restaurant downstairs is superb!!

The shared bathroom is a little old school but was clean enough, and the shower didn't hold itself on the pole (a small investment for much improved service!) Room locks aren't the easiest to navigate, and the single towel again could be improved with an additional hand towel and a touch of conditioner!! Also cash only.........
