"Good value, clean and secure - great spot for Open Air Theatre attendees"

8.0

Location was excellent. View was beautiful. Room was compact, but this is fine for a one-night stay. The thoughtful inclusion of an in-room fridge was a pleasure to discover, as we stayed there during warm weather.

It would have been useful to know in the pre-arrival messages that on-street parking discs are available for those of us who can't fit on the on-site car park. Unfortunately we discovered this information after we'd already paid £13 to park further away on Royal Albert Drive, as the note about the parking discs is posted on the property's door, which you obviously can't see from the road. Fortunately we didn't have much luggage.

"Poor quality budget hotel"

3.0

Price was the only thing it had going for it. And a 2 minute walk to the Clifton hotel for breakfast.

Room was over crowded by trying to make a double room into a 4bed family room with the addition of a set of bunk beds. First impression was the amount of flies buzzing round the room it took 15 minutes to chase most of them out of the room, gave up with 3 still left. Unfortunately the cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling didn't alleviate the problem they didn't trap any flies, which I assume was the reason they had been left there. The mattress on the double bed wasn't a match in size for the base, they had tried to hide the fact by pulling it to the bottom of the frame and just putting pillows across the gap at the head of the bed. Which showed when you got into bed and the pillows dropped into the hole left by the undersized mattress. As previously mentioned, cobwebs in corners of the room, also water left in kettle from previous guests, bedding totally mismatched. Only one teabag left in room, loads of coffee sachets ( I hate coffee) and as a 70 year old disabled gentleman, I could not face going from the second floor to ask for more, then drag myself up four flights of stairs back to the room. In the morning after an abysmal shower, due to the cheap water saving shower head which only allowed a gentle mist come from the shower rather than any real flow of water., we packed everything with a view of grabbing breakfast that was advertised as available at an extra charge, when the wife rang the service bell she was told, 'we haven't done breakfast for over 2 years' (this was the first time we'd seen a human other than other guests) if this was the case why was the breakfast room laid out with numbers on each table and cruet sets? Basically we won't be going back, especially when you consider the Clifton hotel a 100 yards away has similar prices and better facilities and live members of staff, who are trained to take care of residents and non resident customers.

"Good proximity to the Open Air Theatre. Easy check in/out facilities."

8.0

Had a family room which was spacious for us as a couple. Comfortable bed. Good showering facilities.

The double bed head proximity to bed in the room next door. Could hear very loud snoring from the room next door during the night. No means to let in any air on what was a very warm night.

"Great value"

8.0

The room was nice and big. There was space for parking. It has tea/coffee facilties and a bar downstairs. Very hospitable. Very clean and tidy . Really good value

Just minor things really. One of the drawer front was loose. The wardrobe handles need tightening up. Extractor fan and light above mirror in bathroom not working.
