The Highwayman Hotel

Every member of staff we met were welcoming, very friendly and helpful. We had 2 delicious evening meals there. Lovely clean room with comfy bed. Ideal location with lovely gardens.

Good staff , if a little untidily dressed ! First night meal was fine !!

Second night meal not so good ! Dry burger , cold peas on small fish and chips (£16!!!) . Babies being craddled while parent is serving you ! The cook seems to run the dining times ! Breakfast not until 9am for an hour , never heard of that one !! Continental b/fast ? No ham or cheese ! Rather disappointed , will not be returning .

The hotel was lovely, the scenery was beaitiful and the staff were really friendly.

It was hard to get up the stairs with my bags and there was no alternative way available. I do not have any mobility issues however those who do would really struggle.

I was pleasantly surprised with the room & large bathroom with shower. The bed was comfortable & the room was clean, but could have benefitted from a chair... as the only place to sit was in the bed. There was parking outside which was a great asset.

I was a little concerned about the noise from the bar below. But was assured that it would close between 8.30 & 9pm which it did. & was very peaceful from then on.

Excellent quality and location. Staff namely Athena was outstanding. Friendly and welcoming staff and customers at the bar.
