The Rose & Crown, Ashbury

Lovely spot, food was great and staff very helpful and very pleasant

Location was good

Very poor room The bathroom had mould on the ceiling and walls not surprising that there was no ventilation, well a pathetic small fan that didn’t accomplish anything. After a shower the bathroom was dripping with water. Why bother with a bath, just create a decent shower Room wasn’t clean either

Perfect stopover after a long walk on the ridgeway. My room was very comfortable and clean. Plenty of Tea/Coffee AND water were provided. The staff were all lovely and the food was delicious.

Can’t think of anything

I enjoyed my stay at the Rose and Crown. It is quite a remote location but was where I needed to be for a seminar. I would happily stay here again and overall the food was excellent. The locals are friendly and all the staff and management are superb and really make you feel welcome. The room I had for myself was huge with a very comfy bed.

only a couple of things. I did feel overall it could do with a bit of a clean, such as the gents toilet and the bathroom in my room and could see marks on a lot of the glasses going out for breakfast settings. There were ashtrays out the back on the tables in a patio area that seemed to go uncleaned for a few days at a time and were just left on the tables overnight. Did it spoil my stay? not at all, but these are a few points I noticed during my stay. I also found a small piece of foil in my pie but it was still delicious in spite of this.

Friendly welcome from Libby, spacious room with comfy bed and good shower. Great help with luggage, accessibility to room easy. Historic pub of 530 years, so rather charming with sympathetic upgrade.
