Hotel Alegria

lovely hotel, excellent location wonderful host totally recommend

We loved our stay at Hotel Alegria. Wish the sign for the hotel would have been at little easier to see, we drove past it twice before we saw the sign on the window. A van was parked in front of it and we could not see the writing and the traffic and people in the area make it difficult to slow down and look closely.

Great hotel, very central and convenient for all the attractions. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast which included freshly squeezed orange juice brought to your table by the owner which was a nice touch. Clean and comfortable. Given plenty of information on arrival including a loyalty type card which can give you discount in restaurants and attractions. Bike hire available from local hotel. Bus/train station 15 mins walk or 3 Euros.

Bruges is a beautiful city and Hotel Alegria is a perfect place to base yourself. It is a few steps to the market square and the world famous Belfry, yet it is quiet and peaceful. Our double room over-looked the small garden and the Unesco tower, amongst a higgledy piggledy selection of red tiled rooves making up a typical Brugean scene. The room was immaculate, and the owner could not have been more friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh bread and pastries, cheese, ham, fruit and yoghurt, delicious jam and freshly squeezed orange juice - more than enough to sustain us for a leisurely walk around the sights of the town.

Very welcoming and comfortable hotel just off the main market square. Hotel owner was friendly and very helpful, she provided great guidance and information. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh gluten free bread and cereal available. Nothing was too much trouble.

We arrived a little early but our room was ready for us. Veronique made us feel very welcome and gave us valuable information about the local area. Our room was spotlessly clean, warm and cosy. Breakfast was varied and plenty of choice for all tastes.....could not find any fault with the Alegria On a final note our return flight home was cancelled and Veronique spent an hour with us trying to find information and a solution to our problem

The hotel is so close to the Markt but not noisy at night. The location is perfect for exploring the whole town on foot. Veronique was extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. We were 3 in a room but the room was not cramped. A very comfortable stay. I will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Bruges.

Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Bruges. The hotel is small and friendly. It is tastefully decorated and all areas are well kept. We had a small problem in our bathroom and a plumber arrived and sorted it out within 1 hour - such efficiency! Good breakfast on offer, with proprietor on hand to offer excellent service.

This hotel is an absolute delight. It is central, only a 2 minute walk from the market square. I was travelling solo and was made to feel very welcome. Friendly staff who were more than happy to answer my question about what to see and do. The room was beautiful, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious, freshly squeezed orange juice was a perfect start to the day. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
