Gloria Swiss Hotel & Apartment Sandakan

It's me n my family's maiden trip to sandakan..the hotel was good with modern amenities . Ideal for families . Although location was bit far off,it was not a problem for us as we mostly use waze to navigate . highly recommended 👍👍

Its been sometime i have left sandakan,even i'm far sandakan is always near to my heart as the girl loved was from sandakan...an a sabahan girl....As each day passes through there not a day without thinking of best western sandakan...i could remember the place...stays fresh in my heart...the food,the rooms (101 & 102 )....i stayed in best western with my girlfriend for her birthday...Was just both of us with best western staffs....We celebrated my girlfriend"s birthday.....stay there was like being at home with my family.....now the girl i loved is isn't with me...she left but not the memories.......and those memories was brought to me by best western staffs & environment....those are enough to keep me alive

We stayed here recently for one night before catching a flight out of sandakan airport. The room we stayed in was pleasant enough and was clean, but the surrounding area was unpleasant. The noise problem from the karaoke bar downstairs remains and much of the downstairs of the hotel space was like a building site. The downstairs of the foyer area are individual industrial rental units, but more care should be taken to ensure that the whole of the downstairs space is pleasant - presently it's little more than a slum. We ate a very average breakfast that bore little resemblance to the menu we were given alone in an empty room off the foyer, though the guy serving us did his best and was pleasant. It's close to the airport which is handy if you don't have much time, but view this as a place to sleep and no more. Overall I would not return.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. The towels and floor were dirty, the bed quite filthy and there was a strange smell in the room. It is located in a suburbian area ca 20 min from the airport by taxi. The area was not very nice and we couldnt find a decent restaurant that was open. The staff were nice and friendly though.

Location: Located away from the city, basically you will need a car or ground transportation arranged to travel around, surrounded by small industries Room: Spacious, modern, clean, and sufficient (too noisy at night due to the karaoke downstairs) Service: Helpful front desk Overall: Average

Picture this you check in to the room at 11pm after a long day and there is a strong stench of smoke, management offers to spray the room. The room is upgraded to a larger room, but there is no shampoo/shower gel, slippers...its ok..you just want to sleep to get the airport early morning....as you settled in to bed, you can hear the syncopation in the off beating of bass, whump whump whoomp from the disco across the road. Pay extra and pick the Four Point hotel...

I stayed here for 2 nights in their Family Room & it cost RM150 per night & it was worth it. Had my pleasant stayed in here & i will stayed here again. Beds were comfortable, had mini fridge, iron & iron table, hairdryer & sofa too but there was no lift, just stairs. Everything were awesome. it was located in Bandar Letat Jaya & it just 10mins away from the town & 5mins from airport.

This is a quality property. We had a beautifully appointed room, management was professional, knowlegable about the area, helpful, and courteous. The hotel is right off the main highway about 10 minutes or so from the downtown in a newer area of Sandakan. The area is mixed apartment houses and retail businesses. The rooms surround an inner, covered courtyard where they have restaurant and club facilities. Some of those businesses were closed when we stayed and they were renovating this area. I said "but" in my header because as another guest mentioned, the restaurant service was verrrrry slow and different parts of our breakfast came out at different times, not as one breakfast. It also appeared that the wait staff was inexperienced. Now, everybody has to learn at one time or another in his life. So I wouldn't let this experience prevent me from staying here again or eating my breakfast here, but management needs to get the restaurant staff in sync and up to spec. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here in the future. I am giving service a 4 star rating because the front end staff were the best, but the breakfast room staff need to better learn their trade.
