Colonial Inn Motel

I really wanted to like it here. Not possible. Filth inside (see photos) and the parking lot has thousands of cigarette butts just lying around. The room smells of disinfectant. Wireless only works near front desk. The rooms each have two doors. Twice as many lock problems. One positive thing is that the television works, and it has Dish Network, if you like that sort of thing. Also, the person who checked us in was very pleasant and friendly.

I'm not one to complain and have never wrote a review before but the fact that we came here a month before and the rate was around 50 bucks and we came here tonight and got the same room with no cars here and they charged us almost 70 dollars. That wasn't the problem though because both of us were exhausted and decided to stay anyways. This place is not worth your money it's disgusting and the room smells musty. The staff were also pretty ignorant. Stuff in the sink, on the floor, and to top things off there were a couple bugs crawling only on the top cover of the bed but nowhere else in the room. The deadbolt to the outside door is broke which isn't so comforting. We put our stuff in the car outside because it would stay colder than it would in the fridge. Not saying every room is like this but this was definitely the worst stay I've ever had. Left early and will NEVER stay here again.

It was secluded. They basically give you the room and thats it. The only annoying thing was in the morning, housekeeping just tries to open the door after knocking once. I went there to get away and have privacy and write. Which involved a lot of liquor..so that annoyance at 10am isn't really the best for that situation. But if you latch the door they eventually go away and stop knocking. Maybe there was some "Do not disturb" sign I forgot to put up. But other than that, it was clean, peaceful and doable. Nothing too fancy.

Scary and gross is what I can say. Mosquitos and flies in the room and an overloaded electrical outlet for the tv, fridge, microwave, and other appliances. There was no room phone and one iron and uneven ironing board for the entire motel. The room has two doors, one for a rear entrance, which wasn't locked and had a decent sized gap between the door and frame, which would account for all of the bugs, and which overlooked a dilapidated house which is reminiscent of one you'd see in a horror movie, and a door into the hall. Very outdated decor. We forfeited our money for the night and left without staying the night. We felt it was worth the money to leave and get a good night's sleep elsewhere.

Don't waste your money! gross dirty rooms, old hard springy mattress, No phone! had to ask for a alarm clock . No towels. No breakfast. Loud people in the next room, Flat old pillows. Not even fitted sheets ! Flat sheets that kept falling off and bunching up to where I was sleeping on the dirty old mattress. Lights barley worked.. dark rooms. Hair stuck on the wall in shower(which I wouldn't use) Carpet old and worn ... Hated it and would never stay there again . The owner seems nice but sadly thinks his place is a palace !!! Its a dump. and there's NOTHING around there that you don't have to drive forever to get to. Glad I was out of there buy 7am morning couldn't come fast enough.

We stayed in this little motel when we shopped at Grove City The room wasn't ready when we arrived nor did they have our reservation for the room. The lady at the desk spoke poor english which made it a challenge to understand each other. They gave us a room with a fidge that didn't really work as we discovered when we returned to the room anticipating a cold drink and all we had was room temperature pop and water. The room smelled of stale urine. Although not their fault they were doing work right across the road and started bright and early the following morning making sleeping impossible. We won't visit again

the rooms arent beautiful but for the low price this motel was a pleasant surprise. clean and the clerk was friendly. tv gets a decent amount or channels. our bed was comfortable. the poor reviews dont make sense to me. you cant expect a Hilton for $70

My wife and I stayed here while on our way to visit relatives. The clerk at the front was nice. The room was old, mostly decor from the 1970's. The furniture (including the bed/mattresses) were pretty worn out. For the price, I might have given it two or three stars, but it was noisy all night long. There were a lot of noisy guests and the rooms had no sound proofing. I was surprised that the clerk didn't come out and ask several of the noisy guests to quiet down. I'm a deep sleeper and I woken up at least four times through out the night. A hotel that you can't get a decent night's sleep in is no bargain, no matter how cheap it is.

MERCER PA - The Colonial Inn Motel is lodging is run by a smiling and pleasant family that lives on premises. The facility saw better days decades ago. Although the price (in May 2014) for a single queen was 30- to 50-percent lower than its franchised competitors on the other (Interstate 80) side of town, it has several drawbacks that prevent recommendation. The mattress was soft and uncomfortable, the decor is mid-'70s (has not been updated), towels and blankets are thin, TV is analog. Each room has two doors, inner and outer; we found the key to the inner worked, the outer (direct to parking) did not. Rear-side parking is potholed and unpaved; park at the front. We purposely did not try the free continental breakfast. On the plus side the room was spacious, the lobby is open 24-7, the cable and free WiFi service good.

I am an attorney and I had a case in Mercer. I was traveling by myself so cost was a major factor. I got a super low rate through Expedia. The room was clean and comfortable. Complementary wifi was fast and readily accessible.
