OYO La Spada Boutique Hotel

Lovely friendly staff

Need to clean out your cupboards and facilities to be fair as good customer service and responsibility to your property,

Not tidy or cleaned properly

Restaurant was lovely staff amazing squeezed us in even though they were super busy Bedding was spotless

Room was dirty not sure if it hadn't been used in a while and hadn't been checked b4 we went in NO EXCUSE loads of cobwebs thick enough to say they had been there a while hairs in bath window sill was thick with dust, bits on carpet if we had arrived earlier in the day i would of asked for a different room or for the cleaner to come and clean again but it was getting on for around 9.30pm by the time we actually looked around the room and seen how bad it was (we were late in as we at in restaurant)

The food was good. staff were nice and friendly

The bed was broken, the room was dirty, the bathroom was dirty, there was no fire detection in the rooms, the fire alarm has a fault. oh and they don't do breakfast. disaster of a bed and breakfast

The rooms were clean and tidy plenty of room commucation was good and the car park was handy

There was no direct line to the property or mobile I could not see all went through main reception the bathroom taps are well overdue to be changed in both rooms our hot water tap would not shut of at to get somebody out I was looking forward to bath after travelling 7 hours and the sink one not much better I know it’s July but the rooms were cold and not once did the heating come on and tv totally out dated and control did not work

We picked a very busy day to need a bed in Durham as it was the university open weekend. La Spada was reasonably priced & good enough, despite quite a few adverse reviews. The hotel is not set up to take guests after 10pm, a fact not highlighted when we booked at 11.30pm & then tried to get in. Fortunately we were admitted. There was no breakfast service.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a hassle free, reasonable priced and well serviced restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
