Rudeness when we asked about clean bed linen _ toilet roll,,which you'd expect to have. Owner is rude & not approachable at all,,double bed had bed squashed into what they call double room,no wardrobe & continue to ask why TV isn't working? After 4days paid for in advance,still no TV,,we were moved to another room but had to pay extra on top, absolutely disgusting,,so not even for overnight stay,book into here,,I now understand why non refundable,as it is an absolute sham of a place.

We were greeted by the manager and he was very friendly and showed us to our room.

Given the amount we paid we were surprised at how basic the facilities were. We found that our shower was not only electric with a small shower head, but it ran cold. There was no phone number obvious to call and no reception desk to complain to. After 10 minutes of the water still being cold we turned on the kettle and the fuse of the entire room blew. Moreover the shelf in the bathroom was broken and the toilet roll was down to the last portion with no others available. We had to get going to a morning appointment and when we notified them afterwards of our challenges they would not offer any compensation. A shame as we will be going to Durham regularly and were looking for a nice place to stay over night.

The staff were friendly and came to change the bulb in the main light very quickly. The bed was comfortable. The sheets and towels were clean.

There were a number of things that didn't work including the main bedroom light (even after the bulb was replaced) and the TV remote. Most of the fixtures and fittings needed to be replaced such as the bathroom shelf that was coming out of the wall. There was one bedside table and lamp but nowhere to plug it in! The room needed redecoration, especially the windowsill and around the radiator. There was a large cobweb in the bathroom. There was a code to enter to access the hallway and the room. My room was not very soundproof with noise from the road and other rooms.

- No breakfast availability - Key pad on door not key felt a little odd - Trailing extension lead on floor - side lamp broken - definitely need to decorate the bathroom

Room was clean and basic, staff friendly, dinner in the restaurant very good

Had to ask for WiFi code, TV didn't work, one ceiling light didn't work and the light over the mirror in the bathroom didn't work. Only 1 bedside table and lamp, not enough light to be able to read.

I tried to check into the place for it to be actually be closed. I have been trying to get a response for over a week now regarding the issue and still have nothing.

Very friendly and excellent service

One problem was stairs as husband uses 2 elbow crutches and they were narrow stairs.
