A Heartfelt Experience at Chhotaram Prajapat’s Homestay – More Than Just a Stay, It’s a Feeling! 🌾 Our stay at Chhotaram Prajapat’s Homestay in Salawas Village was one of the most authentic, soulful, and heart-touching experiences we’ve ever had. This is not a commercial hotel even Resort — it’s a real Rajasthani Age old Tradition home where every corner has a story, every meal is cooked with love by family women, and every smile is genuine. From the moment we arrived, the family welcomed us with warmth and respect. We could feel the positive energy of the place — the simplicity, the cleanliness, and the honesty in everything they do. The traditional mud house call huts are beautifully made, cool in summer, Warm in winter and give a real village feel without compromising on comfort. The food is the highlight here — freshly cooked Rajasthani dishes like bajri ki roti, dal ,rabodi. Everything tastes pure and homely, cooked with local ingredients. But most importantly, they cook with their hearts — that’s what makes the food so delicious. mister Chhotu and his brother Ashok explained their traditions culture. What we admired most was the family unity and respect for culture. Men and women both work together with equal dignity which is important for them and love of family make strong bonding I like very much in this house where everybody give heartfully respect each other — they welcome guests, cook, weave, and share their stories. You can feel the pride they take in their heritage. Some people come here expecting hotel-style service, but this is a real and rural homestay, where you share culture life with a local family. You experience authenticity, not artificial luxury. You become part of their family , sit together for meals, and talk around the fire under the stars — something money can’t buy. Chhotaram ji and his family are doing incredible work to promote Culture rural tourism and keep their traditional art alive. They host guests from all around the worl

Honestly everything was too good.

The houses are beautiful and the place is well maintained, food is expensive. Be aware that this is a successful (franchised) tourist trap, and that people who left a good review here were most probably scammed. His brother has another property with the same activities.

Every interaction leads to a form of guilt-tripped purchase demand, which will always be a complete scam. Sadly, well-meaning people are the ones who homestays like this hurt the most. The activities offered, such as the “village safari,” were merely routes to fake workshops and factories that sold counterfeit fabrics (no pashmina, cashmere etc.) and products falsely advertised as handmade. The so-called “craftsmanship” of the villagers was shown for no more than 10 minutes before they began pushing products for sale. If you had any doubts, they reassured you by saying the purchases would support widows in the village (e.g. Shriganesham Exports) Additionally, the “cooking class” was not a class at all but unpaid labor costing 25eur pp. We were tasked with finishing a large dinner on time. The male members of the family entered the kitchen multiple times, speaking in Marwari and signaling the women to hurry up, which also created unpleasant tension. We were not given time to learn about Rajasthani cuisine; instead, we were helping the women finish dinner on time for the family and the guests. They will also try to sell you supermarket spices for 900rs. P.S. The owners will also try to sell their woven rugs to you sooner or later during the stay.

Eu e uma amiga nos hospedamos nesta guesthouse durante nossa viagem pela Índia, na área rural de Jodhpur, e a experiência foi simplesmente espetacular. Desde o momento em que chegamos, fomos recebidas como parte da família, o que nos fez sentir extremamente bem-vindas e seguras. O quarto e o banheiro eram muito limpos, confortáveis e bem cuidados, com chuveiro quente e toalhas disponíveis, o que fez toda a diferença. A hospedagem oferece muito mais do que apenas um lugar para dormir: é uma experiência completa e autêntica. Pudemos jantar com a família, o café da manhã era delicioso, farto e muito bem preparado. Toda a família foi incrivelmente simpática e acolhedora. Um momento especialmente marcante foi quando as mulheres da casa fizeram henna em nossas mãos, um gesto cheio de carinho que tornou a estadia ainda mais especial. Recomendo de coração para quem busca uma experiência genuína, segura e humana em Jodhpur. Ficaremos para sempre com ótimas lembranças desse lugar.
