Carmelites Guest House

Walking distance from central station and many attractions. Very good size room and comfortable.

We found Carmelites online, and went for it due to the location, reviews and the look. - Location: It's close to the Grand-Place & Manneken Pis, so perfect for sightseeing on foot. - The guesthouse: a lovely old building, but warm and with the expected mod-cons - The host: Pascal is a great host, he asked what we wanted to do / see and then marked our map with a lot of ideas.

I would recommend this place to anyone, our host was very accommodating and was very helpful in getting us around Brussels. The breakfast was awesome. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

We really enjoyed staying in the Carmelites Guesthouse in December. Not only is this a perfect location and a great room with tons of comfort, Pascal and Akemi are lovely hosts. Pascal made an excellent breakfast for us both days, even when we had to leave extremely early the second day. His knowledge of the city was so appreciated and his hospitality and attention to detail is amazing. We won't be staying anywhere else when we return sometime soon. Highly recommend!

I stayed with my wife for 2 nights. Room is cleaned for Japanese quality, especially bath room has a bath tub is super for Japanese. We enjoyed the home atmosphere and welcome by house owner. The location is very near to Grand Place, enjoyed sightseeing within walking distance conveniently.

2 wonderful days spent at Carmelites Guesthouse. Very cozy, very clean! Pascal is a great host, very friendly, attentive, and he takes very good care of his guests, making sure that all their needs are fulfilled and providing all kind of guidance relevant to Brussels and surroundings.

Nice location and lots of space, but the best part is Pascal, the very amiable host, who will tell you everything you want to know about Brussels. There is really only one guestroom in the house (an apartment is next door), so you get full attention and service. Breakfast is lovely--the freshest pastries and breads from a nearby bakery.

We were welcomed by the host, Pascal, who looked after us very well advising on sights and getting about. Establishment was a treat of retro style and real old.

I got bug bites sleeping in the bed. The whole back side of my right leg below the knee had bug bites. I also had one bite on my stomach. Our room was on the third floor and the owner lives on the second floor. Walking and moving around in the room and the bathroom makes noise disturbing the owner on the second floor. We made couple of calls using our cell phone which also was disturbing as the sound echoed throughout inside of the building. Brussels has a great metro system and one day metro/tram/bus pass costs only 7 euros (roughly equivalent to 3 one-way rides). So we would have been better off staying at a hotel away from the central place. Otherwise the room and the bathroom were clean, though there was foul smell in the bathroom. Basically the attic has been renovated into a bedroom. Our 3-night stay at Jackie O bed and breakfast at Amsterdam was so much enjoyable that we were excitedly looking forward to staying at this guest house, but we were disappointed.

Pascal and Akemi were wonderful host. The guesthouse has only one room and it was located near most of the tourist attraction. I will not hesitate to stay there again.
