Kurobe Kanko Hotel is along yhe bus route between the Shinano-Omachi station and Ogizawa station, which is the start of the Alpine Route. It’s a large tourist class hotel, which serves dinner and breakfast buffet style. Having said that, that quality of food in the biffet is excellent, and most people would enjoy the dinner (includes grilled beef station), and breakfast (includes scrambled eggs and a selection of pastries). The hotel also has self-service washing machines and dryers available for guests to use, which is a real plus for those if us who need to get some laundry done.

Our family of five had two rooms at this hotel before embarking upon the Alpen Route the following day. We took the bus from the Omachi station (a large coach bus, timed to leave a few minutes after the train arrives); we told them what hotel we were going to - the stop is a major one (90% of the people got off the bus there) for the Spa. From the stop you can see the hotel and just need to walk across the street and up the hill. It was the same stop we picked up the same bus for the following morning to continue to Ogizawa and the start of the Alpen Route. The hotel was a traditional Japanese hotel, with no beds, just straw mats. We picked a time to go to dinner when we checked in and they setup our futons while we were eating. Dinner was in a large cafeteria with a buffet with primarily traditional Japanese dishes, along with ice cream for dessert. We were among the only Westerners staying there which added to the experience, most of the guests appeared to be Japanese staying for the onsen.

ホテルは､大町温泉郷に位置し､立山黒部観光には､長野県側入口 扇沢駅に車で約30分と非常に便利です｡ ホテルは白樺並木に囲まれており､静寂の中に佇んでいます｡

It is a good choice for rather tight budget with buffet half board options near the area. Originally I booked a 8-tatami triple room, I was told later at the hotel for a free upgrade offer to 10-tatami triple room. It was a surprise to me. Also the onsens in hotel also were great experience and relaxing. If you would like to visit Tateyama Kurobe area, it would be a choice for you as an economical half board option.

The room is clean but somewhat small, and no bathroom inside the room. We have to take shower with others together pubicly and we did not expect that.

交通尚算方便，但環境寧靜，對開是一條河，夏天大水時應該很漂亮。早晚餐自助餐豐富。

We stayed here to start off early on the tateyama kurobe alpine route. It was conveniently located beside the Omachi Onsen bus terminal, just a 3min walk away. Our stay package includes buffet dinner and breakfast. The buffet had a good spread and very enjoyable. It was good value for the amount we paid. There were quite a lot of tour groups during our stay. Do try to visit the hotspring before the tour buses comes in, it can get very crowded. Also, we witnessed some locals telling a few honestly clueless foreigners off because their towels were touching the water. It would be good to get familiar with hotspring etiquette beforehand if you plan to visit the hotspring.
