Very beautiful house and setting. Lavish furnishings and decor. Fine attention to detail in all regards First class and very warm and attentive hostess in Kay. Blissful. We would highly recommend this delightful house and location for a destress and relaxing break

My husband and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at The French Country House. We were so pampered by lovely Kay and felt relaxed from the moment we walked in. From the warm and personal welcome on the chalkboard at the front entrance to the bouquets of freshly picked roses in our room, we both dropped into the 'bliss zone'. Fabulous boutique touches for our overnight stay including a turned down room, candles lit, chocolates and rose buds on our pillows. Thank you for your warm hospitality Kay and for the delicious breakfast, home baking and freshly brewed coffee. We have an everlasting memory of our 23rd Wedding Anniversary to cherish. Cherie & Wil

We have just enjoyed our third stay at The French Country House. We love the ambience, the sheer luxury of being so well looked after, the beauty of the countryside and Kay, our wonderful hostess who makes everything perfect.

Our trip to the French Country House could not have been more perfect. We arrived for our honeymoon the day after our wedding to a very warm welcome from Kay & Billy and we were immediately in awe of the house & property - it is so beautiful! We'd been so busy with wedding prep that we hadn't had time to make any plans for our stay but it was Kay to the rescue with many thoughtful suggestions of nearby walks, cafes and restaurants so that we could make the most of our time away. Not to mention the delicious breakfasts whipped up each day by Kay! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the French Country House and we can't wait to return!

A spectacular lodge in a spectacular setting and even more spectacular host Kay Pierson. We had a amazing time and Kay made sure that our every need was met so much so that we felt at home. Thanks for the wonderful memories.

Having worked for many months without a break I felt the need for a 2-night break to rest, relax and recharge. The French Country House is a beautifully appointed lodge with high ceilings and beautiful suites, On arrival, you are welcomed with a name board and shown the Lodge and taken to your room - My Suite was the Blue Room with fine linen sheets and a most comfortable bed, with perfect chandeliers a view over the paddock with sheep and horses was a delight and the peace a quiet truly wonderful. Breakfast was a delight with a lovely table setting, fresh flowers, and a great fruit salad. Host Kay gave great tips on sightseeing and a local forest walk which was wonderful. Can't recommend this place enough if you need a place to totally relax and enjoy some you time. It is becoming a favourite place of mine.

My hubby and I were lucky enough to be gifted a mini getaway at the French Country House for our babymoon. Although the package was slightly altered from that advertised on the website (I assume Covid is the reason for this), we had an absolutely amazing time. Kay was a wonderful host (along with Billy!), and made sure we were comfortable and were making ourselves at home. The house is absolutely beautiful, and being able to go for a walk through the farm and feed the horses treats was great. Our bedroom was massive, and had a stunning view. The spa bath was to die for! Each night Kay prepared us delicious canapés to have on the deck by the fire, and made sure we helped ourselves to the drinks in the fridge. Our bed was made each day along with cute little chocolates and roses put by our pillows! Breakfast was freshly cooked each day and Kay made sure of any dietary requirements we had before our arrival. We spent three nights as the only guests in the house (once again, probably due to Covid!) and by the end of the trip it felt like home away from home. Would recommend a stay at the French Country House to anyone!

We were celebrating a big birthday and this was a magical place to enjoy not only the beautiful house but the hospitality,warmth and kindness of Kay and Freddie. The room we had was luxurious and full of French personality. Candles and fireplace were lit and felt like we were indeed in France. Kay makes a beautiful and bountiful breakfast fit for a king. Will definitely go there again.

We stayed for 3 nights at The French Country House in late February 2021. From the moment we pulled up at the front door, complete with a personal welcome notice written on a blackboard, we were made to feel genuinely “special”. Our host, Kay, together with her absolutely delightful assistant, Freddie, treated us so well. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room, was huge and tastefully furnished with French antiques. The bathroom modern and the bed beyond comfortable. We chose The French Country House because we wanted to relax, and relax we did! No pressure to do anything at all except to enjoy the atmosphere of the house and the peaceful country surroundings. Oh, yes, and the breakfasts were amazing too! Thank you Kay, we arrived as guests and left as friends.
