The French Country House

We are a young family from London and visited the wonderful french country house back in February, just before the world was struck by Corona. We are a family of 4- myself, my husband and our two very young children (aged 0 and 1 at the time). Kay was wonderful, she arranged everything to be picture perfect and so comfortable for us all! From the delicious breakfasts, to the day trip recommendations to the chocolates on our pillows- we couldn't ask for a warmer host. I hope we can visit again!

This is the second time we have stayed at the French House. We live in Tauranga and have such a beautiful, relaxing time we don't want to go anywhere else. Kay is the most amazing host that ensures your stay meets 100% of your expectations. Do not miss out on this amazing opportunity.

What a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Kay our host was a true professional and made the stay so special. The French Country house is the closest we will get to a French Villa . No wonder it was chosen for the first NZ Bachelor program - beautiful. Highly recommended they you don’t have too plans organised- relax and enjoy the ambience and the uniqueness of this house - indulging all ones senses. From the music to the waft of amazing subtle fragrance , candles, flowers - chocolates on the bed, homemade baking, all beautiful touches everywhere one looked . And yes the men also thoroughly enjoyed their stay as well - a fun stay had by all. A holiday away from home - no passport required We will return . Thank you Kay.

This was a serious special getaway where we were pampered with good service from Kay. Always there if needed but otherwise unobtrusive, friendly and helpful. The building itself is indeed special with an absolute ambiance of its own. This project ia a major labour of love. The rooms are generous in size as are the ensuites. Our bathroom included a big bath with spa facility. We arrived to a see a welcome board with our names followed soon after but coffee, tea and carrot cake.We left after a beautifully prepared breakfast wishing it wasn't all over. Because it is in a world of its own we think the idea of going with friends is a perfect way to share the experience. We took our own vino which wasnt a problem. Canapes were just another pleasant 'pop up' that arrived when we sat down to have a drink.

The French Country House was everything we expected and more. The house and grounds were majestic and beautiful. With the warm, homely interior and lush green grounds, you truly feel like you're in a Disney movie. Kay was such a lovely host and her pup Freddie welcomed us into the home with open arms and treated us like royalty. Definitely recommend organising for Kay to make dinner while you're there, she is an amazing cook. Thanks so much for a magical stay!
