Metropol Hotel

Location was good and easy to find. Room was clean and very spacious (for a family of four). Breakfast was decent. Safe parking.

Some can say the hotel retains the charm of the old days; I would say it’s a bit dated and some refurbish needed. Despite this, it was a pleasant stay.

Attention, si vous réservez par téléphone, la réservation peut ne pas être prise en compte et vous vous retrouvez sans rien. C'est arrivé plusieurs fois.

Slightly worn feel to decor

If I were to write a novel about a hotel, it would be about the Hotel Metropol. It has class, warmth, kindness and just a touch of mystery. I would come to Calais just to stay here. In fact, I have fantasised about coming to Calais one December for a week just so I can stay here. No, make that two . It has charm, elegance and makes you feel secure. The staff are exceptionally kind and helpful, the decor old-fashioned and characterful.

Nothing, though the internet is a bit weak. But that just adds to its charm.
