Crystal Bay Beach Resort

Nice place to stay. The facilities are ok, but the AC is very noisy.

Knew the hotel was going to be basic when we booked but as we couldn't get in to the nicer hotel on the beach we decided to go for it anyway as we had heard that it was on one of the nicest beaches in koh Samui. Unfortunately the weather turned extremely bad. First morning there we woke up to find that the floor was flooded due to there being big gaps between the door and the frame. The wind had blown rain in with such force that things we had put on the floor the night before were soaking wet. After breakfast (which is also a shambles by the way!) we had a power cut. Everything stopped. Including the water which runs on a pump. That meant we had no shower and no toilet! Reception said it would a couple of hours which we were fine with. After two hours we returned to reception as it was still off. They told us that the power was out everywhere and were still waiting. We decided to take a walk down to a restaurant the other end of the beach to see how they were coping. Turns out they had everything working and had all day! our hotel had lied. 5.30pm we had not had power for 6 hours and it was getting dark. Couldn't use anything & had not been offered anything by the hotel, not even a torch! The manager actually laughed at us when we got to speak to him. I asked what we were paying for if not even the toilet could be used. He could't be bothered to deal with us so refunded the money and we packed up quick to head to back to our previous, much nicer, hotel.

Stayed in the grand seaview room and the view from this room is simply to die for. Very spacious room, modern and clean. Breakfast so so and a small pool on the resort. Most beautiful beach on Samui. Not a lot to do in the local area.

Hotel is next to secluded beautiful beach but location is terrible. The nearest market is pretty far and you may end up spending a lot to reach there.

It was wonderful. I recommend the ocean view rooms. Service and serenity. Very friendly staff. I will he back again.

We had an absolutely brilliant time at Crystal Bay. Not sure how anyone can give this place a bad rating. The hotel is small and basic but has everything you need. We had a seaview deluxe room which was clean and a decent size. The food is good and the staff very friendly and helpful. The yacht club restaurant is great but more expensive, and the pool there is lovely. But the best bit is the beach. No rubbish at all and not too crowded. Just soft sand and the warm sea. Would go back tomorrow!

Beautiful beach, great staff, excellent Thai food

Beautiful view from the room over crystal bay is this hotels big sell. Room was clean, some furnishings a bit dated, but overall perfectly good. Breakfast was adequate, but nothing special. We stayed in the grand sea view room which sits higher than the other rooms.

Location on quiet beach. HOTEL needs a lot of work. Only 7 Chaise lounge chairs and none on the beach. Had an sea front deluxe room. But the large tree in front blocked our view it just needed trimming. Food was ok. Staff not friendly. Overpriced for the room.
