Hotel Nikko Xiamen

Hotel stay was great to catch up with friends. Nice clean modern hotel. Will stay again.

The hotel is very clean. The staff very nice. Stayed in a ocean view room that comes with a nice balcony. Good!

As usual, Nikko Hotel fulfilled my expectations. Nice place, warm staff, excelent location, good restaurants.

Hotel is clean and spacious, food also nice. The most important thing is staff especially the porters are very helpful, they can help us to locate the village that we are looking for through their computer knowledge that make us found the particular village within minutes although the location is more than 2 hours from the hotel by car. I really appreciate their help and make our journey more meaningful.

The hotel is advertised as a 4.5 start hotel. This rating is fair. The price is a little cheaper than the big 5 star brands. The location is fine. Away from downtown but accessable by taxi. The hotel has been well constructed being a Japanese hotel and the quality of fitting etc is very good (eg showers, room quality). It has been well maintained whereas hotels generally deteriorate quickly in China. The rooms below 9th floor or so may look into adjacent buildings and this is where most basic rooms are located. We chose a luxury room for the extra few dollars and it was on the 20th floor. Not much of a view being china and the white haze but more importantly no-one looking in. The breakfast buffet, It has everything but depending on the time you go and day there may be some items a tad stale (Eg: crossaints one day great. next a bit rubbery) This is the difference btw a 4.5 and 5 star hotel. I will say though because you have a wide choice I had more than enough to eat. The staff are very kind and young. They do panic a bit at breakfast when you talk in English and run for the few english speakers to help them. All very well intentioned but. Overall I would say very good value and again fairly rated. If your the type of person whom needs 5 star service (all runs like clockwork so you can make your big meeting),maybe not for you but if you can accept a very good effort then you will be happy here and pleased you saved a few dollars.
