Hotel Ambassador by ACE Hotels

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night. Our room felt like a quiet oasis in a very busy neighborhood of Kathmandu. The room was spacious, new, and very clean. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet. Although the hotel is in a central location, we mostly ended up taking cabs due to the bad air quality and heavy traffic near the hotel.

Small boutique property. Newly refurbished rooms, with comfortable bed. Helpful staff and good location.

The staff were ok, but amenities were quite lacking. The room we booked wasn’t available and there is no gym or fittness center at the hotel. Also no sitting spaces (other than the small lobby) for meetings and working. The location is ideal, but the hotel needs to work on customer service and amenities.

The Ambassador is a wonderful hotel that is close to Thamel. The hotel is clean and has a couple of good restaurants on site. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend Hotel Ambassador by ACE hotels.

A new, modern hotel. Clean, comfortable, good food. Only problem is only one key/room is a hassle, especially when room key is needed to take the elevator to your floor (and the stairs are locked). Not all roommates are on the same schedule.

This hotel is one of the very few in Kathmandu that truly reaches international standards. I’ve been to Nepal 17 times and stayed in lots of hotels and the Ambassador is tops. The location is good but not great if Thamel is your main goal. (It’s a 5-10 minute walk there) the hotel is exceptionally clean, the rooms are large, well equipped and everything works; quite a departure from the typical hotel in Nepal. You won’t miss being woken at night by honking horns and barking dogs which is so common elsewhere.

Good enough room for the price, bathroom needed a really good scrub but overall a good stay. Breakfast is in the room - bread rolls, croissants, yogurts and juice.
