The Sen spa was wonderful from start to sadly the Finnish reception staff, treatment and pool staff excellent. Sadly the Hotel is old needs upgrading small rooms small bathroom ordered room service food on 3 occasions and never got what we otdered but had it as hungry. Before our stay had different conflicting information about stay as we checked re Covid rules. Then reservations called me the day before our stay demandibg payment when i was meant to pay AT the Hotel !!!! Only proffesional staff were Suzi on reception and Cambrian restaurant manager. The rooms were not worth the £3/400.00 without the Sen Spa this is a very tired uninspiring hotel. It seems they are only interested in Weddings! !!! Sadly !!! The acid test is compare the price of competing spa Hotels and the service etc ducj as The Captains Club Christchurch or Chewton Glen !!

"Needs to improve"

4.0

On arrival the staff were helpful friendly and accommodating. However, Our room looked very tired and in need of being updated. It was grubby, and dust and fluff was noticeable around wardrobe and window sill area. The net curtains were yellow in appearance. The bed was uncomfortable, very, very soft, offering no support and the pillows were unbelievably lumpy, like a pillowcase full of rolled up socks. The bathroom was no better. Mould on the ceiling, water marks down the front of vanity unit, chipped paint work, marks on tiled floor, screw cover missing from mirrored bath panel and dirty broken bin lid. Breakfast was awful we ordered decaf coffee and mixed toast and received a transport mug of what tasted like fence preservative and warm slices of brown and white bread. The full English was served from those food warming stations, which quickly dry out food and makes it become Inedible . After complaining to the kitchen manager we cancelled our remaining breakfasts for the remaining days . Luckery we found a decent cafe just 10 mins from the hotel , who served a very nice full English. Although Very disappointed in the hotel the public areas were very nice and the Thai restaurant was very good. Overall for a four star hotel the quality and service needs to be greatly improved before we would consider staying again. Please don’t use COVID as an excuse as we have stayed elsewhere during the pandemic and have had excellent service accommodation

"relaxing and comfortable stay "

8.0

We really enjoyed the restaurant in the main hotel and the lovely, stylish lounge. However the bedroom was a bit drab and lacking in character and the en suite needed refurbishing. The spa facilities were very good and I had an excellent massage. A shame not all the facilities were open due to COVID!

"lovely "

10.0

Stayed Friday and Saturday of this August bank holiday 2020, instead of a planned girlie getaway to Marseille which was cancelled. The hotel didn’t disappoint. Even though we had a basic room, it was spacious. We pre booked swimming twice a day whilst we were there, and the pool was lovely. We had dinner in the two restaurants the Cabrium I think it was called was fantastic. Highly recommend. The French bistro was also lovely but not quite as special. Breakfast was great too, we only had breakfast one morning as we drive to lymington and ate there the next day. Great location, we enjoyed a lovely 9 mile walk through the forest passing Giant Redwoods and Sequoias, before walking through Brockenhurst where we stopped for a pint and saw baby donkeys wondering past. We also took a drive out to Milton on Sea, which was gorgeous. COVID measures were good the only criticism was in the bar, there is no menu so when we had a coffee, which had we seen a menu may have included a light lunch too, it was just a coffee and an expensive one at that £4.50 per coffee. And then over £12 per glass of wine. Just odd not being able to chose or see what you could order. In the restaurant itself you had menus and wine lists, so don’t see why that wasn’t possible in the bar or lounge.
