Residence Porta Antica

The room was small, but I was only there to sleep and for the price, it was just aso id expexted. It is close to the train and ferry station so for easy travel and there are tons of restaurants, cafes and shops all around. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. My only complaint was that the bed was quite firm, which is not my preference, but fine for 2 nights.

a lovely historical hotel in the perfect location of rovinj. our room overlooked the harbor and we loved walking around the area. the staff was super welcoming and quite funny. they will send you an email with detailed instructions on how to drive in the old city to drop off luggage. will always stay here when in rovinj (and i will be back)!

We absolutely love Rovinj and ADORE Porta Antica. This was our third visit to the area, and our third time staying in this hotel. The location is fantastic, overlooking the port and central to everything in the old town. We love having the ability to prepare meals in the room, and as a young couple traveling with a family, it's nice to be able to put our son to bed and still enjoy some relaxing quiet time in the living room. With the windows open, you can hear the live street music performances and watch the action going on below. Claudia and her team at Porta Antica are incredibly friendly and welcoming and the restaurant recommendations were superb. I can't speak highly enough of this place

Location was great, but if you have children, be aware that the hotel is right on the waterfront, and the loud partying/music goes until late. We had a 1-bed apartment, and the noise level in our bedroom, with a window on the alley was fine, but the bed in the living room was right next to the window on the harbor, which was LOUD! Everything else about the hotel fine, but be aware that if you are driving you will have some challenge getting your luggage to the hotel. You can actually drive right up to the hotel to check in after getting a special pass to enter the old town, but you have to park outside.

Claudia was a wonderful host, great location, great value. Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

Gorgeous duplex in the center but surprisingly quiet and spacious. Comfy beds and good hot shower. Very much recommended!

The hotel is very well located, close to the ferry to other islands and great restaurants. It is on a lovely little old street and our room faced the harbor (fishy smell in the harbor, but that's part of the experience). Had breakfast at the Hotel Adriatic. Beware if you stay there on a Friday or Saturday night, especially in units 1 and 3 - they are right next door to the disco - so if you are a light sleeper, either bring ear plugs or consider another hotel. During the week the disco wasn't too loud. This was a good place for a family since there is a separate bedroom and the main room has a fold out couch, so you get two sleeping areas. Unit 3 also had a little kitchen, which was stocked with dishes, pots and pans, allowing us to save on some of the kids meals and snacks. Claudia was very helpful and even provided us with beach towels for a day trip to Red Island, which is great to go to on a warm sunny day - they have a pebbly beach and a "waterpark", which is basically like an elaborate inflatable bouncy complex in the water (you pay extra of course). We loved Rovinj since it wasn't overrun with cruise ship tourists and day tripers.
