Wonderful apartment, great location. It’s in the heart of Rovinj

We stayed in the annex building with a sea view. Beautiful stone building with timbered ceiling. Very clean, comfortable bed, bathroom and all amenities were wonderful. Is in town center, so is very convenient to everything, but can be noisy. (closed windows solves that.) Special mention about the host, EXCELLENT in every way! Highly recommend. We hope to come back!!

What a comfortable place in a super location. We had the room on the first floor (what would be second floor to Americans) overlooking the promenade and the bay. With its own balcony for morning breakfast or some wine and cheese later. Room has a nice sitting area, kitchenette, eating table. Delightful staff; will pick up and deliver to the public parking lot.

What a quaint and charming little place. We loved it! Staff was very friendly, clean room, great location, and the experience to stay in a piece of history was lovely. We would absolutely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed here for six nights, on the Rovinj leg of our Croatian honeymoon. We did not want to leave this place. Rovinj is a truly romantic town, and Porta Antica embodies all the romance of the surrounding area. It is situated right on the water in the center of old town, and one can walk easily to the beaches of Golden Cape park, or to any of the charming restaurants or bars in Old Town. we had a room with a small kitchenette that faced a little alleyway over a shop. There was a little noise, from the nearby club, but nothing that ear plugs couldn't help. The room was decorated in a sweet, rococo manner that added to the feeling that you were in another time. The bed was a little hard, by American standards, but not so bad that it interrupted sleep (and I have bursistus in one hip and arthritis in the other! Haha!) The kitchenette had everything needed to make a nice egg and truffle patè breakfast, and a fridge to keep our sparkling Istrian wine (from a local winery) chilled. Claudia, the manager we think, was extremely kind, and picked us, along with our baggage, up on the outskirts of town, and she drove us back after checking out. My only regret is not staying longer!

If you are looking for an authentic, old building in the old part of the town and on the water, this should be your destination. The building is old but superbly renovated. The kitchen was well appointed. Rooms are a generous size, with high ceilings and bright. The reception staff was extremely helpful with directions to various things. The hotel is right in the middle of what the town has to offer. Just beware that the authenticity of the old building in the old part of town means a) about a 350 meter walk from the closest place to park a car so travel lightly or be prepared to drag suitcases along cobblestone roads and b) again travel lightly because rooms are up a fairly steep staircase and at least in our room, #4, the bed is in a loft accessed through a narrow spiral staircase. None of this was of concern to us because we wanted that authenticity. But accessibility may be an issue for some.

Staff were a standout. Always welcoming, accommodating, and helped me plan the next leg of my trip with taxi transfer to the airport. I stayed in a 2 level loft suite with kitchen, dining room, living room, and loft bedroom that was a bit dark but full of character. Totally equipped with everything you need including cutlery, dishes, shampoo, towels, extra linens, etc... Would definitely recommend this place.

The town is beautiful and Ms. Claudia from Porta Antica hotel was very friendly, welcoming, helpfull and always smiling. We highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Rovinj. Porta Antica hotel is an authentic mediteranian place. It's stone walls give the place a special charm but at the same time you can expect modern updates that will make anyone feel comfortable. It's right on the water with an amazing view of the harbour and very cosy. We'll be back here one day for sure.
