"Great value for money"

The fact that the owner facilitated very late arrival. The room was modern and very comfortable with an en suite shower and toilet. Having met him for the first time the following morning (I've stayed here before) I was very happy with the friendliness and accommodating nature of both he and his wife. He cooked a really good full English breakfast!

Nothing really. The only thing was that the house being Victorian/Edwardian, it was difficult to lug heavy suitcases up to the first floor, there being no lift. The owners are in the process of modernising the accommodation (our room was renovated with all mod cons) so whether they are intending to install a lift is as yet unknown.

Immediate help when asking for directions on arriving there by public transit. A friendly welcome reception upon arrival. A lovely room. Comfy bed - could not ask for more. Definitely stay again.

Nähe des Flughafens, sehr freundliche Gastgeber, gutes Frühstück, gute Betten.

Dusche nur kalt, Haus bedarf Sanierung, es wirkt schmuddelig mit den alten Teppichen. Negativ ist auch, dass Gäste den Haus-Parkplatz bezahlen müssen.

"Great value for traditional comfort and modern convenience"

A second comfortable one-night stay before a flight from Gatwick. My single room was nicely refurbished but retaining original character - the Turret is a beautiful period house. The en-suite was quite compact. Although located on a fairly busy road, the Turret is set well back from it and I noticed no noise at night. I never noticed any noise from air traffic, despite the airport being less than 10mins bus ride away, with the bus stop conveniently right opposite. The holiday car parking offer is very good value, especially if you travel light enough to use the public bus to the terminals. Owner/manager Rai and his family are delightful hosts. I look forward to staying again.
