Good location for town. PARKING EASY. Price not bad

Very hot as the radiator would not turn off in room 21. Shower didn't work. HOT WATER IS HOT be warned.

Centrally located - I understand that this hotel is extremely cheap, and I also understand that businesses are struggling right now and I feel quite uneasy about leaving a bad review, but the Management of the hotel do not return calls, and are not available to speak with on check out. I have tried several times to reach them, 6 or 7 times at different times of day - and so am leaving this review as they simply will not talk to me and future guests need to know what to expect when staying here - as there is a minimum standard expected when staying in the UK, including a working toilet - and the owners of this hotel clearly do not care -

Where do I start - Room 09 - The hotel is filthy, I mean FILTHY, carpets, walls, it stinks. - The toilet in our room was broken and did not flush, we arrived too late for anyone to help, by the morning you can only imagine the smell - There was no power in our room, only one socket worked in the corner of the room - Every time any other guest opened or closed a door the room shook - No TV was working, or facilities to make tea or coffee as there was no power. - The windows in the room were so rotten they barely stayed open Though this is pretty shocking for a hotel in a lovely historic town… More sinister than this, was the conditions the staff were living in at the hotel- with their doors open for all guests to see - it is not my place to speculate the circumstances in which these staff were working, by choice or not, but the conditions they are living in are extremely concerning and the fact their door was left open for all guests to see, maybe they were trying to tell us something. I think I have a duty of care to report this hotel to the authorities as I don’t know why the staff are being forced to live like this and a working toilet seems totally reasonable to me, even for £40 a night. I believe the owner is called Joseph, they would not give me his details, and if no one will call me back he can answer to the authorities. Right now this hotel should not be open to the public.

Man on reception was very friendly and tried his best with bad circumstances.

One of the beds was broken so we had to sleep in separate rooms. Spoilt the stay somewhat. Was desperate for a shower but it was scolding hot, even the cold water tap was warm but just a trickle came out so the shower was completely unusable. The new room given to my mum the toilet seat was broken. Really disappointing. Not worth the £50 paid for a twin room.
