I was on holiday with my husband,, Son and my Sister. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. The accommodation also had 2 bathrooms, a sitting room and facilities for making tea and coffee and it had a fridge. There was also a microwave. It was perfect for us as it allowed us to be together instead of renting 3 hotel rooms. Upon checking into the hotel I requested breakfast to be added to our stay. The receptionist very kindly added breakfast without any additional charge. Great customer service :-)

The Shamrock lodge is a tired hotel beyond the reception and bar area. I stayed in one of the apartments. My first night the bed sheets were damp. The apartment was fitted with old furniture that was scratched and had lumps taken out of them. The hotel could be cleaner and carpets vacuumed. The continental quilts on the bed were winter ones and made sleeping in June impossible, not just for me but also many of my colleagues. When reception was asked to assist i was left two extra bed sheets instead of a summer quilt!!! The Hotel didn’t possess summer bed clothes. While the staff were superb but the unclean condition of the hotel, the abysmally slow service at evening meal made the experience of the Shamrock Lodge most unsatisfactory. I booked out two nights before i was supposed to and found satisfactory accommodation elsewhere in town. There is planning permission on the gate of the hotel signalling renovations. The hotel boasts a visit by Grace kelly, princess of Monaco. Hopefully the future renovations will make this hotel a place fit for a monarch. It isnt fit for habitation now!!!
