Hostel Casaltura

Of course a hostel is most of times good for backpacker, I am not and I was searching something to stay few days. It is uncomfortable if you have suitcases. Also, I had a room that was extremely noisy because it faced to the avenue.

When booking by expedia, shortly after I received a confirmation email. I asked some questions and was promptly answered. Warned the schedule would come about and the person was ready to receive me and explained to me all hotel procedures. Whenever I needed help, I helped them with much effort to understand me.

very well located. Nice decor. Desk was not helpful in locating an over nightparking, but we eventslly found one under the public park. Albeit well located ( few blocs from Plaza de Armas) very noisy due to all night traffic. Recommanded.

The hotel is in an excellent location. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom. The room was small and very basic but i had everything i needed for a good price. The shower was hot, there was good breakfast, internet, helpful staff and a good location. There was a supermarket close by, and not too far to walk to all of the tourist attractions/areas. Very good for students/backpackers.

We arrived at the hostel at approximately 2 am. There was no trouble with arriving at that time, the front desk staff were very kind, and showed us around quickly and then to our room. In the morning breakfast was good, but nothing too exciting. Everyone got a yogurt, and then there was a variety of bread goods, cheese, basic fruits and juices. There were a few people (4 men with big appetites) who consistently cleared it out, and the girl was having trouble keeping up with them. Instant coffee - which is not uncommon. The front desk staff was so helpful with giving us advice on how to get a bus ticket, and how to get to the bus station. We checked out at 10 am, but then had an overnight bus to Pucon. We basically spent the entire afternoon hanging around the hostel, which has amazing shared spaces including an excellent terrace with great views. They were more than welcoming. The internet quality is good. There is a cute cat. The bedroom was clean and super cute. The shared bathroom was clean, and adequate. We didn't have any problems at this hostel, and the value was very good for what you got and also the location.

Location is good. The hostel is clean. Common area is cosy. Kitchen facilities are the plus and it is cleaned daily. I made my first home cooked food after a month of travel. Fond menory !

I am rating this for what it is-- a budget hotel. I'll break down some of the things I noticed but it is a good choice for a low cost place to stay. Cons: 1. Somewhat noisy-- take ear plugs; 2. Unlike other reviews I did not find employees particularly fluent in English; 3. Bring toilet paper and soap (not that unusual down there); 4. Lots of stairs; 5. Some of the young people grab the breakfast food with their possibly dirty hands (see 3). 6. Some nights (I was there 4 nights) the young people get very drunk and disorderly on the roof deck, but this is really their place so I just enjoyed their exuberance. Pros: A. Great location; B. Clean enough; C. Friendly staff; D. Breakfast was decent enough; Lots of Stairs (great exercise but not for everyone. E. Rooftop deck is a great place to relax and F. Wifi in the public areas (and some rooms but not either of mine).

Paid for double room with private bath with windows to balcony as described. Was offered double room in adjoining building with no window and no private bathroom; had to go from one building to the next in order to get any service including towels; we were two people and they only gave one towel. i do not understand why they gave such poor service and would not recommend.
