Hostel Casaltura

Cheerful staff. No difficulty conversing in English. Fair walking distance from either Bellas Artes or Puentes Cal y Canto Metro stations. Very close to the REAL Santiago Markets a feast for the senses (but not the squeamish). Nice park just outside and East permitting long morning walks. In winter expect cold bathroom. Heater available for dorm if asked for. Overall, like most things in life, it 's all about the people, and they were great and helpful, as were the guests from the world over. Other hostels don't tell you that wifi is only in one common noisy room, this one had wifi available everywhere.

Great location, near the Mercado Central, easy to get from the airport. The staff is really nice, and cool people. Also very clean. Breakfast is ok

It was average, but clean and tidy enough. The toilet and bathroom area was terribly small and not clean enough.

Facilities: Basic, clean and adequate; Value: You get what you pay for.; Service: were always helpful.; Cleanliness: Pleasant; didn't seem the most social of hostels - people came and went rather than use the spaces available there to relax and chat.

Great location and price. Some staff better than others. I have stayed here on three different occasions and summarise 3 different room booked. 1) with ensuite bathroom - the best option though location at front meant it was noisy. 2) Room at back with share bathroom, bathroom left dirty by previous occupant but quieter and cooler 3) room at front next to reception. Noise from the road and reception meant very little sleep. Notice all rooms now have rules up on wall making this very much a hostal. Good kitchen, breakfast okay but dreadful coffee - bring your own. Great roof terrace, wifi and computers and books for general use.

Quality stay, the staff was quite helpful and the Hotel location is in ideal location for Santiago activities thoughout the city.

Clean & tidy but very basic. Staff not overly helpful plus hostal very overpriced given standard of accom
