Large, clean room, quiet, exceptionally friendly.

Very good hospitality, friendly staff. Good breakfast. Location was also great. We like that the room and toilet were spacious. I had a last minute change of my breakfast and the hosts were very accommodating which was much appreciated. We liked the fact they could help us book the ferry tickets which were a great discount off the original price!

I would not recommend staying at this property. After my visit, the hotel deducted £40 from my account, claiming damage from hair dye. While they produced a photo of stained towels, they did not show that they had attempted to clean them, nor provide proof of how many were affected or the actual replacement costs. The charge felt arbitrary and unfair. More seriously, the hygiene standards at the property were extremely concerning. My partner became unwell after breakfast, and I observed a dog being kept in the kitchen where food was prepared. The person cooking had no apron, long hair left untied, dirty fingernails, and generally poor personal hygiene. These conditions fall well below basic food safety standards and made us very uncomfortable. Overall, this was a disappointing and unpleasant experience. I would strongly advise future guests to think carefully before booking.

Room wasn't as spacious as the photos showed nowhere to hang clothes except around the room on hangers,, very misleading..

We had a wonderful stay at The Richmond and couldn't have asked for more. Mark and Caz are so very attentive and ensured we had a comfortable stay. The breakfast set up was perfect for us with plenty of options. Rooms are immaculate!! Very spacious, the tea and coffee set up was much appreciated after long days! We also appreciated the off road parking. The Richmond is situated perfectly for walking to the old town and the beach. We ate in the local area at the Black Cat and Cinnamon which were both excellent and great value for money. The Village Inn though pleasing to the eye did not live up to the expectations. The old town is very picturesque and we had a great day at the local beach and visiting the Chine. We explore further afield to Yarmouth on Mark's recommendation and we love it here and found a gem of a cafe (gossip cafe)! Overall we had a splendid time on IoW and are lucky to have had such great hosts! If we were to ever come back we would book here in an instant. Thanks!!
