Ranzan Hotel

I loved the niche area that it lied in as I was surrounded by so much nature and beauty. It is the perfect area to stay in Kyoto if you want to be surrounded by peace. Especially in the evening/night.

very quiet and serene. The facility was little outdated, but very clean and the staffs were super kind. and their food at the restaurant was wonderful for the price. I would highly recommend if you want to stay in quiet side of Kyoto.

The location is perfect, ample car parking and right on the river. The river, the bamboo forest and the monkey sanctuary are all in easy walking distance. All of them are very crowded so it is wonderful to get away from it all in the peace and quiet of the Ranzan. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. The beds were a little hard for us. The room was fine but the bathroom was a bit dated.

The hotel is located at the edge of Arashiyama park, so super convenient and walkable to the river band, the park observation point, the Seiryiji temple and bamboo forest, as well as the down town shopping/dinning area, yet, it is also sitting at a pretty quiet location. You can also walk cross the Togetsukyō bridge to the other side for the Monkey park, etc. The hotel room is very spacious, also offer hot spring pools for both female and male. The taxi ride from train station is not bad either. With all the items we loved as tourists, we would definitely recommend it to our friends. Thanks.

Very nice surroundings and friendly staff. The bathroom is a bit outdated but very tidy.

Et kjempefint hotell et stykke unna sentrum av Kyoto. God service, fine rom og et koselig onsen. Var her kun 1 natt men skulle gjerne vært her flere.

Immerse yourself into Japan with this lodging. Kyoto Ranzan Arashiyama does this through artfully arranged meals of the highest standards. Added is yakata, traditional robe and jacket, plus slippers, that allow one the option of dining and wandering about looking like a Japanese noble. (Half the Japanese guests wore yakata.) Add this hotel backs on Todai-ji Temple (I was there most mornings) with its famous gardens). Up into the temple grounds and a right takes you to the shopping street less than 1 km. walk. Left out of the hotel and you are immediately on the awe-inspiring river. Rent a rowboat, take a motorboat up the gorge, a brisk walk up to a vista point magnet for Japanese photographers. OH! The hotel is costly BUT in-town dinner runs $40/person. A real breakfast $30/person. The full-board meal plan should help reason the expense.

강변에 위치해서 전망도 좋고 번화가를 살짝 피해있어서 조용하고 깔끔했다. 직원들의 서비스도 훌륭하고 식사도 맛있었다.

Staff was especially friendly and helpful.
